i am so sorry about your loss. losing a pet is like losing a family member, but I think worse. I went through this five years ago and I kow exactly how you feel. When my dog passed my sister in law gave me the follwing poem. It really helped me. Here it is.
'Rainbow Bridge'

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

OMG So sorry to hear about it. My cat is 21 years old. He has an overactive thyroid. He went from weighing 20 pounds to 9 pounds. His medication gives him high blood pressure. I give him 4 pills twice a day. He is hanging in there. I cant imagine life without him. He also has bad arthritis in his back legs. I have to bring him to the vet every three months..
Everyone always tells me I should get myself ready. I always tell them ready for what???

I totally feel ur pain girly! I have 2 doggies and I seriously consider them my lil' kids! I don't even wanna imagine losing them, it'd totally destroy me

yoginiinluv2011 & DeeDee1013 – thank you for the poem. I love the part when they run to eachother.. My FH mentioned something like this and I was like yeah I cant wait for that day……. He had this shocked look on his face like oh ok rather die before we get married ;) – prob the only thing that made me laugh all weekend =)

Nrauch8191 – =( I hope your cat gets better!! Scruf was the same. He started with seizures then he went to diabetes and then he gained all this weight. He weighed like 28 pounds before he was sick and within two weeks he went down to 17! He was like skin and bones =( We gave him 4 sets of eye drops, meds for all his illnesses and shots – But we would have gave him even more if it was gonna keep him here! ….” Everyone always tells me I should get myself ready. To everyone who said they are like our children I deff!! Agree. Theyre so cute and helpless and do nothing but love you. Im sorry for everyone who lost their pet too =( and thanks a billionnnn for all of your support. You guys are all so kind and thoughtful, I really appreciate it

BTW – skippy peanut butter was recalled .. we gave this to our dog everyday to take with his meds =;( I know he had a lot of other health issues but I cant stop thinking this could be what made him sick
