He's up there, sounds like he's ripping up papers or something!

Our exterminator came and said they love anchoveys (sp?)

So we baited a few of those humane have a heart traps..hopefully he'll be in there shortly!

Kathy - Does the ammonia trick work on squirrels too? They've eaten several holes in our garbage pails! I would never hurt them, but they are getting on my nerves (and also eat all my birdseed!! ).

Good luck getting your 'coon in the trap!

Can your Dh put the ammonia on the garbage bag after it's out of the house, so you wouldn't smell the ammonia?

I see a lot of men take the garbage out, but it in the pale, and then pour a few capfuls of ammonia right on top of the bag.

I don't know if it works for squirrels, it's worth a try!

Im a SAHM and DH works 7 days a week so I do the garbage. I dont want to be even near it.

kptoys... I do not know it this is safe, but DH got the 'scented' heavyweight bags & it seems to be deterring all of our little visitors: racoons, squirrels and opossums. We got the Hefty ones. It's been working for about 3 weeks now.

I think he got them in Waldbaums....they are supposed to smell like lemon, but they smell more like carpet cleaner to me. I guess I would read the ingrediaents to make sure they are OK for you while you are preggo (I am sure you would do that anyway ).....the scent is a bit strong, but it does work.
