Definitely check out the Mansion at Timberpoint!!! I have heard amazing things!!

I agree! I would have had my wedding there but my cousin got married there. The pictures are amazing - you have them on the golf course - very cool looking. Neal is one of the banquet ppl - he was so nice!

Oh this is soooo sad!!

I had my reception at Timberpoint in 2007. It was FANTASTIC! My sister got married at Smithtown Landing and it was Fantastic. My brother got married at Timberpoint ten years ago and that was was also Fantastic. So, as you can see, I am a big fan. FM me if you want the nitty gritty.

Timberpoint is really beautiful and the food is outstanding. SO are all of their other locations. Go take a look and see if you like one of them.

I hope this works out for you!

i had my wedding there and nothing was stolen
it was perfect from soup to nuts

the bm went above and beyond as well as my bridal attendant

the grounds are great for pics
the lawns so green it looks fake its so funny (but of course its a golf course in the back so they keep it in tip top shape)

we coudlnt have picked a better place to have our wedding
0 regrets with timber

I would get a refund and go somewher else, if all the other places are owned by the same company, what about if they too go out of buisness?

The Lessing Family has been in business for decades and they are privately owned. I would doubt they are going under. They must just be cutting thier losses with that one place. Perhaps it isn't booking up as much as they'd like? Personally, I would stay with Lessings b/c you would think that they'll work with you to make you happy under the circumstances.

My dad had his 2nd wedding at the Three Village Inn & it was very nice. Lots of food, good value. But yes, his ceremony was on the grounds & it wasn't the BEST setting. Kind of in the parking lot, to be honest. But the inn is adorable & we all got rooms there & they have a bar for afterwards. It was nice.

I have also been to affairs at Timber Point & Smithtown. My godson's baptism was at Smithtown & it was fab. The food is always good & they are very professional at any Lessings places.

I was told that the only reason Lessings is losing this property is because the golf course that owns the property is foreclosing. With the economy the way it is... that is understandable. It isn't Lessings fault.

Doesn't make it any easier for us brides that were booked there (check the 08 board for my drama filled weekend). But, Lessings is doing everything they can to make it right for me. Including paying to have my invites reprinted. For any Tall Grass brides that are looking for a new hall... if Lessings doesn't have anything that suits you... def check out Mill Pond CC. They are honoring my contract from Tall Grass and the manager there (Janet) is so nice and is doing everything she possibly can to make me happy. FM me if you need any more info! HTH!

ITA with this. I had my wedding almost 2 years ago at Tall Grass and there was concern even then for me about them closing because the golf course was trying to sell the property and build condos there. The community strongly opposed it, though, so it didn't happen. Anyway, in the back of my mind I was confident if they closed they would just ‘upgrade’ me to another Lessings property and I would have been totally fine with it. I don’t think you would go wrong with any Lessings property.

Well that explains why I couldn't find any info on Lessings home page about them.

From the looks of the website, The Mansion at Timber Point looks AMAZING. It's on my list to call and make an appointment for next week. Let me know what you thought of it!

Good Luck!

I got married at Timber Point an LOVED everything about it.

It was beautiful the day of... If you have any questions, please feel free to FM me.

So sorry this happened to you! Of the choices I have been to Timber Point. My brother got married there last summer and TP did such a nice job! We all thought the food was excellent. The bridal attendant and the maitre'd were also great. My youngest brother was the BM and he was freaking out about giving the toast so he asked the Maitre'd about getting a shot before going out there Lessings has a no shot policy but wouldn't you know the maitre'd was awesome and had a round of shots ready for everyone in the bridal party right before we were introduced. We thought that was really cool of them.

yup/// our M'd steve gave us all double shots of blackhaus before the reception... INCLUDING MY parents...

it got the party started, I'll tell you THAT
