that was fantastic. I loved it.

it left me ****** up and brain damaged...but it was great.

I've always wondered what the bomb's soundtrack for me would sound like.

he's a fan of the mixed tape, I've just never gotten one from him.

I get random songs here and there...but he's never sung me a story.

I guess I'm not the kind of girl for that. too too bad.

me neither. I want DH to give me a mix tape and a kitten/puppy with a bow around his neck. An origami flower would be fine too. Yes - that is my dream.

Explain this.

Was I wrong though - about girls over mix tapes?

Ah, JD. You were awesome.

I think you are spot on about the fact that mix tapes= romance, and girls romance.
But I have never ever dated a man soft enough to be that sentimental and romantic.
I do this to myself- I was never attracted to men who would be so deep, but then I wish my husband was more romantic.
I hate that about me. My personality is at odds with itself.

Well, I dumped guys who were that awesome.

Until the man made his 'girlfriend' mix.

not on your life and fo so', not here in the open.

and no, you are right about mixed tapes. or any tapes. or receiving music of any kind.

our first VD together, the bomb bought me an Elvis CD, but instead of wrapping it, he 'gifted' it to me by blindfolding me and putting the CD on to play 'Can't Help Falling In Love'

the song, though I loved it before, began to mean more to me...but it's only Bono, singing it live on the ZooTV tour that can sing it with the depth of emotion I feel when I hear it. I can't listen without feeling my heart leave my body. I am a very sensitive and emotional girl, despite my ruff exterior

there's a reason lovelines and dedications will always be staples on the radio. songs immortalize the feelings of the moment, no matter how fleeting those feelings may end up being.

I think my DH has it in him, but he is too lazy and lacks follow through.

I've dated guys that thought brought me flowers, drove miles and miles to see me...called me beautiful, intoxicating (I kid you not), told me I lit up a room...I glowed...

I hated them all. well, not hated, but obviously, I never stayed with any of them.

sometimes we want to crack the nuts.

sometimes we only want these things from the person we love, not b/c we want these things , but b/c we are looking for evidence of something...to assauge our fears...to know we are loved as much, if not more, than we love.

someone, please guide me back to the shallow end of the pool...I am drowning today.

Except you feel it worse the second time around; it cuts deeper, it lingers longer. Because it's laced with regret.

Totally true.

Well written, I love reading your articles!!!

You are so talented. But this made me giggle:

'For the record, I hate VD'

For the record... me too. I

I wish I could show my tries-too-hard-and-falls-flat-on-her-*** English teacher ex-friend your column. She couldn't hold a pencil to you.

You amaze me.
