My Shower - Incredible!!! (Really Long)

My Shower was yesterday and it was absolutely incredible! I can`t believe what a fantasy my MOH and bridesmaids put together. My MOH told me she bought a book called 'The Dummies Guide to being a Bridesmaid' (or was it 'giving a bridal shower'?) because she wanted to be sure she did it right. We agreed early on not to attempt a surprise, because I live in Boston, my MOH lives in California, and the bridesmaids live in NYC and Chicago, not to mention my Mother would be flying in from Arizona. Since all my other friends, and Fi`s family were in NY, we decided that was the place to have it. The party was held at the Garden City Country Club for a Sunday brunch and the girls did so much to make it an elegant day. Fi`s Mom helped them coordinate many of the details, being the legs and eyes for the out-of-towners. I walked into the room greeted by flashbulbs and friends and Fi`s family (I know most of Fi`s family since we`ve been together for over 8 years) and was handed a corsage and champagne punch. The tables were beautiful, with spring flowers in the center, small Mikasa vases wrapped in tulle for favors, and pretty floral place cards. The gift table, set up at the back with a lacy umbrella and a tulle-decorated chair, was right out of a movie, with pretty packages and a Mikasa picture frame with a picture of Fi and I, which they later presented to my Mother. One of my creative bridesmaids had an unglazed ceramic vase, which she had everyone sign, and she is taking it home to glaze so I`ll have a special vase as a remembrance, signed by all the guests. It was so wonderful to be surrounded by so much love from everyone. I received lots of lovely gifts - not one of them duplicated, and many surprises that were not on my registry, but amazingly to my taste. Every single thing I recieved was something I might have chosen myself and it made me very happy to know that my soon-to-be family knew me so well. I can`t stop thinking about how wonderful it was and how lucky I am to have friends that put in so much effort for me. My only regret is that it flew by much to fast and I felt like I didn`t have the time to circulate and socialize enough. I guess that`s a preview of what the wedding day is to be like, and I`m going to try to make sure I 'slow it down' a little if I can, so I remember more. Wonderful! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. The showers usually turn out to be everything you could dream of...and more! I loved mine too, everybody was so great. The vase is such a nice idea that you will no doubt treasure. I'm going to store that one in my memory for future showers that I may be a part of.

Mine was last week and I had the same feeling, I couldn't believe how fast it went I agree we will have to slow it down for thwe wedding, I'm glad to hear you had a good time
