My moh came to me the other day and told me that she doesn't want to plan my shower alone and asked if I could do it with her! I don't mind the work but that is a little weird to plan your own shower. It takes out the excitement. Here's the problem. She is FHs' brothers wife, but she is only 20 and has no money. Neither do his sisters. Once my mom caught wind of this she decided to tell them she would pay for the place. Now they feel they shouldn't pay for anything. I feel so bad because I am paying for my whole wedding (my choice) so my parents can help buy my brother a car like they bought me. Is it terrible if I tell my girls they have to at least pay for half. It doesn't have to be something fancy as long as it is nice.

I think you should tell them they have to pay for something. If you truly wanted your mom to pay for ur bros car..then you should leave it at that. It is not fair for ur mom. I would explain to your girls the situation and have them work something out.

see if they can get the invitations, favors, cake and decorations. I highly doubt they will be like ok give me the $. if they do just say well between the cost of the food and drinks for the shower, and my brothers car, my mom doesn't have it to give to u.

Its not wrong at all to ask them to pay for something! There is no reason that YOU are doing something nice for your brother and THEY ruin it-I would definitely ask them to pay for some things

definitely think your bm should pay for something! but if they have done a lot already to help you out, then maybe they can pay for something less than the whole thing?

Definetly ask them to help out even if it is only a little bit. You shouldn't have to be stressed out about your shower. It is supposed to be a surprise.
