My friend called me earlier, she stayed late and saw my student sitting by the office. He attends the after school program and apparently... called someone the 'N' word, said that he cant watch HS musical because it makes his D*** (male part) so hard its going to explode and that when it does get hard stuff comes out...
I cant believe this came out of a 6 year olds mouth!!!!! Now ill have to deal with this tomorrow
**************************************************** UPDATE So i spoke with the boy today. He said that a boy in the park told him stuff but he only saw the boy 1 time (which i dont believe - he has said something like this in the past so i dont think it was this 1 boy) but also he said that a boy at his moms friends house has said stuff to him. Apparently our AP didnt know much about what happened so we called an Aide that works in the after school program and she didnt know what went on. She is going to find out today for us and let us know if they spoke to his mom. After i hear back im calling his mom to come in and ask her about this boy.

OMG when I first read that I thought you were gonna say it was a high school kid that said that (which would be horrible as well). But 6 years old?!?!?! That's soooooo terrible.

OMG! Not to assume the worst, but I hope this kid is not a victim of abuse!
honestly iIDK i have never suspected nor did his teacher from last year and it doesnt seem so.. he is more of a know- it all kid. But i think we def have to consider it. but my friend who had him last year said that he mentioned hearing things from another boy - so maybe there is an older boy that he knows that tells him these things.
One of the signs of sexual abuse is precocious knowledge of sex and sexual activity. I would report it because he is describing how it feels. Maybe the older boy is doing more than just telling him all about it.
Last week, a 7 year old special ed student from across the hall called my (Jamaican) principal an 'F-in black b---h' and then threw his shoe at her. Holy crap! It was unreal.
It sounds cliche but I feel like the kids are getting worse and worse with each year that passes.

Re: My student.... Be shocked!!!
I hear crazy stories from my sisters and friends and I can't believe the things that come out of kids mouths.
I know some of them repeat what they hear but really don't understand the concept of what they are saying. If he understood the concept I would think there is something more going on either at home, with neighborhood kids.
My sister is a kindergarten teacher and right before she left for maternity leave on of her students asked her 'Is that a baby in there' (as he pointed to her stomach) and she said yes and his response was 'That is going to hurt bad when you push it out from down there!' Now I know child birth is natural but a 5 year old boy does not need to know where a baby comes out from or that it hurts!

I had this with one of my kindergarten students last year. I knew he was getting it from his parents though. Its sad how some parents are around their children.

Re: My student.... Be shocked!!!
Maybe if a kid is realizing new things about his body and being open about it. BUT what he said. !!! Its the Tv too you cant let your kid alone with it. All I can think of is my mom with the soap in my mouth for anything said like Damn. That mom that said I dont know where he gets it should be disiplining for bad behavior. Scares me that my kids could be in a school with a kid like that

Re: My student.... Be shocked!!!
I am not shocked at all!! I've heard worse on the train and in my park from little 6/7 and even 5 yr olds in the street hanging with their friends with no parental supervision whats so ever. OMG pleeeeeease dont get me started in this subject, I have very strong opinions on this matter with how boys are being raised.

WOW, 6yrs. old. I wonder what type of family he is being raised in
There is no way a 6 year old would know how to talk like that if he didn't hear it at home.
That is sooooo sad.
I hear crap like that all the time form my behaviorally challenged 7th graders, but a 6 yr. old?
not necessarily... my 7 year old comes home from school saying some gnarly things and he certainly didn't hear it at home.

My mom would've knocked my into next year if she heard me speak like that - ugg i hate to sound all old ....but, KIDS THESE DAYS! really not even being funny - can you believe how quickly this generation is gowing up compared to us? ? I remember being in like 9th grade and hearing the term bl*w j*b and assuming it was when a guy blew in a girls ear! it really is sad. i can't even imagine how their kids are going to be 20 years from now. YIKES GOOD luck to you!

Re: My student.... Be shocked!!!
You know that he heard that from someone don't you because no 6 year old would know to say that. Hopefully you can somehow correct him or find out where he heard it. Good luck that is a tough one!!!!! You will be until it is over.
