My turn to vent....

My turn to vent....

Let me preface by saying that my MOH is FH's sister and she's 20 and in college....my Jr. MOH is my cousin and she's 13...one BM is in Manhattan, 2 are 6 hrs away, one is in Boston, one is 5 hrs away and another is 24 hours away....

with all of that said....I emailed them all today to see if any wanted to get their makeup done so I can give my vendor the details. I also said in the email that I think a shower/bachelorette party are no-go's since everyone is spread out.

Well, I'm sort of sad/hurt/annoyed....none of them ever thought to organize or attempt to organize a shower...I got a few emails regarding not having a bachelorette party so maybe that will happen...

our wedding is really small. If we had a shower, it would suck. My family is upstate, FHs is here, and then friends/family ALL over the US...same w/ bachelorette...

I just feel like I can't have the normal bridal stuff due to the distance thing...I know I said it was a no-go but it makes me sad that it won't happen....

Okay, vent over....

Re: My turn to vent....

Thanks girls...

It's frustrating.....I told my mom I don't want one...she told me i was lecturing the wrong person...

I know my Aunt's wanted to do something upstate but I vetoed that...I can't ask my friends to fly in to NYC and then drive 3 hrs upstate...it's not practical...

I don't know...i guess I'm too nice...I don't want to be a burden to my BMs...

but then again, I want to feel a little love...

aww. i'm sorry you feel hurt. yeah, maybe they're planning a surprise...but either way, it's better not to get your hopes up or you'll get even more hurt~

maybe you should casually talk about having some sort of shower or b-party right before the wedding? your BMs and family members need to fly in earlier for the wedding, no?

Re: My turn to vent....

hey colleen!

stop vetoing things!!!! if your aunt wants to throw a party - let her!!!!!!

it seems like you're like, 'no I don't want anything' but in your head you're like 'yes, I do, please don't listen to me.' don't expect people to read your mind - if people think you don't want something they won't throw it.

tell your mom, tell your MOH, tell someone how you feel so they can spread the word!

I know you've had a hard time but you don't have to feel miserable alllllll the time.

I'll help throw you a shower too!!!! You should have something given in your honor!!!! You deserve it!!!!!
