My uncle just called me...(PRAYERS!)

to tell me that the fires in California are only 9 miles away from his house and they're moving at 1/2 mile an hour!!!! That means his house can be gone by tonight. I'm shaking right now. His wife is packing up the house but I'm so scared for them. They need your prayers...all of southern California does right now.

OMG I totally will pray for him and his family. I cannot imagine what he must be going through right now. I cannot believe the destruction that I Have seen on the news and on the internet, it is very disturbing that the fire could spread this fast and for such a long period of time.

Thank you all. He said they weren't overly worried until yesterday when the fire changed direction. I have been so busy with midterms and work that I've barely paid attention to the news, but everything I heard told me that it wasn't near him so I didn't call to check on him. I feel terrible. I feel worse knowing I'm their contact person - hello, 3000 miles away! Where are they going to go??

I'm sorry. It is so scary..my brother his wife and their baby son live in San Diego as well. They don't think it will hit them b/c of the change in winds but they are so scared. They haven't been at work in three days. They sent us some pictures and the sky is orange. It truly is terrible.

Your uncles family as well as all Californians are in my thoughts and prayers
