I received the awful news today from my banquet manager that my venue's lease is up in March and they are not renewing!!!!!!!!!!
They can offer me a spot at their other location, Atlantic Beach, for a 4pm-10:30pm Sunday Wedding. I don't want my guests running out of there cause they have work the next day. I WAS doing an 11:30-5 affair at the location that is closing.
Have to find a new venue. FML!!!!!!!

Aww, I am so sorry this happened to you! If you do decide to change the time to later, make sure you tell the vendors you already booked asap.

I'm so sorry, that is terrible. I hope you were refunded all of your money. Like others said, let us know if you need help finding a new venue. It will all work out, don't stress!!

But I agree, 10:30 is not really that late. I'm getting married on a Thursday and that's when my reception ends. I figured if people have to go to work the next day 10:30 would be an ideal time to head home.

i'm so sorry!!!!!!! i'm doing a sunday reception that goes until 12:30...people will stay until the cake is cut and whoever is important will be there until the end so Sundays aren't the worst.
good luck looking again - i know it's a pain!

10:30 isn't bad for a Sunday wedding. I would go to it!!! So, if you like the new place, I say go for it. However, if it were me....I would be totally turned off by them and I prob wouldn't want to book at their alternate location. That's just me though lol

OMG!!! Thats freaking terrible i'm so sorry this happened to you!!! And 10:30 isn't bad at all for Sunday. Mine is actually going until 11:30 and a bunch of people said they'd stay for a wedding.

They are going to give us our money back and me and FH will be looking at some more places and we have one particularly in mind. This is like a bride's worst nightmare, right?! You hear about this but you never think it's going to be YOU! But on the positive note, I still have plenty of time to change things. A little part of me thinks, maybe this even happened for a reason.

OMG sorry to hear that....... 10:30 isn't too late at all... If you go to the other venue see what they are going to do for you like free add on's etc..... because they really are inconveniencing you. I'm sure when you booked they knew there lease was coming to an end....

I am rebooked!!!!!!!!! At Woodbury Country Club!!!!!!!!!!
Long story short...
Woodbury Country Club was my first choice to begin with, but originally my father was very adamant about having a kosher wedding. We couldn't afford to do kosher @ Woodbury, that's why I ended up booking at The Sands. Once the Sands bailed on me, I called my Dad and told him what had happened and explained to him that he is going to have budge on the 'kosherness', it's not like there are an overwhelming number of kosher halls out there and we are not so religious to begin with. My Dad agreed and I immediately called up Woodbury Country Club who still had my date available, six months later!!! Fate? It's a possibility. Things happen for a reason? Also a possibility.
