Re: My Wedding Date

My opinion is Oct. but that is b/c I love the month and that's when I got married. If you are looking for the best prices you are better off asking the reception halls when they offer deals. If not, I'd say go with the season you love the best and month that is convienient for you. You can't go wrong then! Best of luck!

Re: My Wedding Date

It depends on several factors in your life. For example, as a teacher, the summer months were the best time for me. If you are trying to save money, November - March are probably your best months (only if you avoid holidays like New Year's Eve and Valentine Day). April is not a bad month because the weather is slowly getting warmer and the trees are getting full. However, the flowers have not bloomed at that time, so if that is important to you, April may not be good. I don't know if you are having a religious ceremony, but a friend of the family had a difficult time finding a church to marry her the day before Easter because the alters were stripped on Good Friday. I don't know if there are rules about getting married during Passover if you are Jewish. Needless to say, you need to decide if money, religion, or other things will play a role in your wedding planning. Good luck!

Re: My Wedding Date

winter was too cold, spring- out, I have major allergies, and summer too hot.

That left fall for us- plus that is my FAVORITE time of year. November was cheapest for the fall, so here we are- 2 weeks away!

Re: My Wedding Date

I hate the heat and love the colors of fall BUT i didnt want to be sidetracked by Yankee world series fever so we picked 10/5. Of course - this year on 10/5 it was 80 degrees and humid and all the leaves were summer green!

So my point is - pick a time of year you like/love but dont be too disappointed if mother nature disappoints.

Re: My Wedding Date

I think that May and June are the popular months, mine is in December so go figure, it was mainly due to work constraints!

Re: My Wedding Date

I think Autumn weddings are great - Oct is tough, I went for the 12th bc I wanted to do it before the clocks went back, but really the leaves just started turning about a week ago!

Re: My Wedding Date

I wanted October, but it's a busy month for my FH (NYC Tabletop Show), so we went with late September.

Re: My Wedding Date

If you are looking @ 2003 & are ready to book, you could get an incredible deal on dates that are less than 6 months away. I didn't know that when I started planning an October wedding in April, but it really worked out for us. The thing is you can't be set on an exact date because you'll be booking whats left or something that cancelled.
I must say that I love the Fall, that's why we picked October. 2002 October brides got a lame deal on colorful trees, the November brides this weekend are getting the best colors!

Re: My Wedding Date

Our wedding was on Sept 15. We wanted Sept because its not too hot and not too cold. For some reason I wanted the middle of the month no matter what. When I fell in love with CB and the date that they only had available was 9/15/02, i knew that was the date that I wanted exactly on the spot.

Re: My Wedding Date

think it depends on your taste in the weather/climate. Do you want indoor/outdoor? Cold/warm/hot?

We actually chose our date (10/12/03) cuz there are no holidays, bdays, anniversarys or any other celebrations in that month to compete with (we don't count Halloween)

Altho obviously June is the most popular month to marry, I refused to marry in that month AT ALL cuz the prices are too high & you get the same stuff pretty much year round, so why pay 5x as much for the same stuff if you don't have to. JMO - sorry didn't mean to turn that into a semi vent
