should ihave my bms ordering dresses yet? i thought i'd only need bout 3 months so i was going to start in the fall.. but if it's gonna take longer(saw on another board where it was taking girls 5-6 months to get theres.. ) i should prob get started right?
any ladies have bridal parties out of state? what is the easiest way to handle this?

IMO, the earlier the better. I've heard horror stories where the dresses come in in the wrong color or the wrong size and they have to be reordered. Even though this doesn't happen all the time, you still want enough time to reorder them, just in case. I have one BM who is out of state and I'm hoping I can find somewhere for her to try on the dress where she lives and have them take her measurements to see what size she should order and then I'll order it with the rest of my bm dresses.

The majority of my bridal party is from out of state, so what the bridal store suggested to me was to have all the girls go get their measurements on their own, and then all of them call in their measurements and credit card info for the deposit to the bridal shop, and they said they wouldn't put in the order for the dresses until every girl has called in so they can order them together. Then when they come in, I'll somehow get them to everyone and they can take care of their alterations if needed. I'm ordering my dresses from Lidia's Bridal Boutique in Copaigue, and they seemed very familiar with this type of situation and were very helpful!
I was planning on ordering them in January for my August of 08 wedding! HTH!

I am waiting on one more girl to order her dress. We all figured better sooner than later, ya know? But alot of people said we could wait until August or September...

my wedding is in March 08 and we havent even started looking yet. I think it totally depends on the designer and the store you order from. I personally think you have time, but then again i am a procrastinator.
My best friend was going to be in my bridal party but can't make it from TN. but if she was we were just gonna have her get measured out there and order the dress here with everyone else.

I am also getting married in Feb and we just ordered ours last weekend. once you start looking you should ask the stores of the dresses you guys like and then go from there. I think you are ok, but it doesnt hurt to have a little cushion just in case of delays and alterations, etc.

I have a feeling that if you NEED the dresses in, most bridal places can make it happen for you. Its whether or not they choose to that you have to worry about!!

My wedding is in Feb also & I'm starting to look now for dresses, I want to get them ordered just in cause. Most places have told me that it will take about 3-4 months to come in but I would rather be safe than sorry!!!

I would definitely go more than 3 months before your wedding to get bm dresses...ALOT of them do take4-6 months to come in and some even 8-9 months. Plus don't forget that after the dresses come in they need to be altered so definitely give it enough time
