Maybe I'm a little over sensitive, but I'm a little bummed about the # of people coming to my wedding. We invited 184, and it looks like we're only having 130. Which is 20 people under our minimum! I understand people have lives etc, etc, but I'll admit I'm a little sad that so many people said no.
My family is small, I only have 6 tables on my side! For some reason, this is bothering me.
We've started the seating plan, and it just looks so sparse......
Maybe I'm over reacting. Thanks for letting me vent, and reading my shameless post for sympathy!

Don't worry. FH and I are going through the same thing with his side. Most of his relatives live in Poland or other parts of Europe and we won't know who is coming until they get their VISA's. We are starting to work on our B list now, as we might need it.
as long as the people who are there mean a lot to you thats all that matters! You will have a wonderful day filled with love and all the important people in your life.

But remember that a smaller, more intimate wedding will be remembered very nicely. It will give you more time to speak with almost everyone and not feel overwhelmed.
You'll have fun either way, you are getting married!!

I wish you luck on making your minimum. They do say to expect about 20% of your total invited to be negative responses.

Yes, the most important people will be there, I keep reminding myself of that. I'm just afraid the room is going to look so empty.

don't worry i don't think we even have enough to invite to meet our minimum..fh has a small family and a lot of my family has unfortunately passed away over the years..when my sister got married in 94 we had a lot more family to invite..sad but true and now we might be paying for empty seats..

Don't worry about it, I am sure your wedding will be amazing with or without all those people.
Try talking to the hall and see if there is anyway they can lower your minimum a bit!

My min is only 135. Sometimes I think it will feel small - but it gives you more time to chat with fam & friends

130 is not very small. I know how you are feeling b/c i invited 182 people and only 115 could come. But mine was also in August and a lot of people go away.

i dont think 130 is small at all. i had about 140 and it was great. the people that your closest too will come and have a great time and thats all that matters.

Your wedding will not be small, it will be beautiful & intimate. You'll have a wonderful time with the ones you love. 130 is still a lot of people. Don't stress, just enjoy your day.

I can relate to your situation. My RSVP deadline is this coming Thursday, and we are still 35 people away from meeting our minimum. About 60 people have not even responded yet. And my side of the family is TINY! If we actually seat by side of the family, I think we're going to have to put all the friends on my side just to even things out.
But regardless, your wedding will be beautiful and intimate and you will have a fantastic day!

I heard that anything over 100 is considered to be a big wedding.
And, besides that, you can spend quality time with all of your guests, without taking away too much time from YOU having fun!
