My wedding 'nos'

I can't beleieve I got so many nos!!! Out of 95 invites I have 50 yes, 27 nos, and 18 no reply (RSVP date is today).

I knew three or four would be iffy, but I am totally shocked by 12 of the other nos! My mother is one of fourteen, and so far only ONE of her sisters is coming, and that's all! Is it the economy?

It could be economy, it could also be that people don't want to take time off work if you're wedding is on a Friday. They would have to leave work early to get ready and perhaps people are scared to be asking for favors right now at work.

I'm sorry for the all the no's, but you're wedding is going to be amazing anyway!

It's probably a mixture of things.. the economy for one, but I've read that it's pretty normal for 20-25% of the people you invite to decline. I'm sure the economy is a HUGE factor though!

it could be any number of things..prob the economy...do u have any b list people u could invite? i know its frustrating but remember all u need is u and fh..u will have a n amazing day...feel better

I hear you completely...we had the same issue...even worse...Invited 298...final count was 175!!!!!!! Crazy....most was the economy for sure....a few ooters in the family were elders that had health issues so they couldnt come. We really were shocked. We had paid in advance for the 200 min so it messed us up and thankfully WM gave us an extra. The only positive to this was that the room felt so much more spacious with less people and we didnt owe a penny for the last 6 months before! lol

I understand. I felt the same way with my wedding. I invited 250 and had only 160 yes's. I think it definitely is partly due to the economy but also, i learned through my wedding, that alot of people arent as excited to go to weddings as i am. Some people had really lame excuses why they couldnt come. Dont be upset though, your day will be amazing and the people that really matter will be there.

With Debi's wedding last year, at CLM, I think she invited about 150, and about 70 were there!!!!! Mary MOB

Aww...I'm sorry,....this is somewhat like what I am in the process of dealing with. I am rather shocked with a few no's that I got.... NONE of my MOm's family is coming...can you believ that? Either way ... its going to be a wonderful wedding! Try not to let them get you down...

i know how you feel

right now i have 19 no's and a lot of them were really surprising. my rsvp date isn't until march 16th, but i'm still missing 64 people.. so figure like 30 or so rsvps. i haven't even met my minimum yet, which is only 100!

we invited 314 ish and my fiancee gave me a hard time sicne he said i had too many people. RSVP Date was Monday and we are still waiting for a bunch of responses, but right now at 190! I say 200 will be final count... Good thing we only guaranteed 150!

Yea i think the economy plays a major part and also your weddings on a Friday. I went to a wedding on a friday (i took off work, which I didnt really want to) but alot of ppl didnt show because of that reason as well.

The economy is burning through a lot of planning.. Its incredible i'm planning a wedding and so far everything has been ok.. Don't get down.. Continue to have a positive attitude!!!

it's probably a combo of a few things, economy, taking off from work, etc. that's too bad about so many no's BUT you're still going to have an amazing time!!

me too. I actually only have about 110 on my invite list and have a 100 minimum. . now I am thinking I need to invite more but am also really worried about going over. I'm pretty sure most of my invited will come. .. already had a few from my STD's who said they can't make it so they are off the list. .. aahhhh panic

same situation as me. i have a min of 120 and my room only fits like 140 comfortably so i dont want to over-invite and my parents said if i go over 120 i need to pay the difference. I already have too much to pay for. Currently my guest list is @ 135 knowing that 10 def wont be able to make it. I have a B list though. Its just stressful. blah.
