my wedding prices 35 years ago

I thought you might find this funny! My mom had saved all of the bills from my wedding 35 years ago and recently gave them to me. Our reception hall cost us $10.50 per person!! My bouquet was $25 and the bridesmaid's baskets were $15 each! We paid $220 for a 4 piece orchestra. Times sure have changed!!

$25 for your bo-k back then seems pricey for some reason. the best is when my mom gets crank about the registry and says back in her day you just told people 'my kitchen is yellow and my bathroom is brown' ha ha.

Don't forget wages were different too. I made $11,000 when I first started teaching. But then again, the house I'm still living in now cost me $43,000 when I bought it 32 years ago.....and I thought we couldn't afford it!

That's crazy!

It's like when you watch Rich Bride,Poor Bride and they interview couples who have been married 20-40 years ago telling your their entire wedding cost $700!!

WOW! What I think is most interesting is how much more the bouquet was in relation to the pp price. I mean, now, if your plate fee is, say, $100-125, your bouquet is about the same price - but then, your bouquet was more than DOUBLE the price of the pp charge! Interesting!!!
