I know it is totally not a plausible option, but I really wish we had an 'anonymous' option. You know, when someone posts a picture of something and you just REALLY want to say things like: it's just not flattering on you or those are ugly BM dresses.
But.... you don't. Because you don't want to be 'mean' or 'harsh' or 'rude' or start drama. So you either go with a 'that's nice' or you just skip the thread all together.
I would like an anonymous button so that you can say the things you truly feel without people knowing who you are. I can see how it wouldn't work on this kind of site, but that is just what I would like.

Re: My wish for LIW....
we all have different styles and won't like everything.
That is why I love this site. If I post a really weird idea, be it placecard, table setting or centerpiece and I love it, but everyone else thinks it is weird, chances are my guests are going to give it some raised eyebrows, too.

Polls are anonymous. When you want straight forward harsh answers... make a poll.

I agree! I hope that people aren't swayed by other people's opinions on here...they will regret it one day when they realize that they missed out on something they really wanted.

I think honesty is important. If i ever post something asking for what you think, I would want honest opinions. If you don't think it looks good, I would like to know. I have a thick skin I can take it!

I understand what you're saying but there probably would be total chaos on here if there was an anonymous button. I think if you don't like something, you should just be honest, but not mean about it. There's a right way to say things and I think if you're honest and nice about it, people will value your opinion more.

I think SOME of us want honesty. I truly believe that others only want comments if they are nice.
The hard part is deciphering what kind of person each person is.

Thats what I was thinking too!!
Beings you don't have to be a member to lurk..There would be a lot of people just coming on leaving rude comments just for the fun of it (yes, people have NO lives)..
Then of course, if a lot of people say mean stuff, or someone says something completely rude to hurt someones feelings (you know this will eventually happen) That person will want to know who said it, they'll be everyone pointing fingers (probably at the wrong person) and eventually you won't be able to trust noone on here.
I say just be honest...there is constructive criticism..and if you are asking for an opinion you have to accept that opinions vary.
I don't think I'm the only one that really wants to know if some of my ideas are crazy..I appreciate those of you who are honest.

Re: My wish for LIW....
I tend to not reply to a posting if i don't like something....unless the person has specifically said, 'i want honest answers'. Then - you find a way to be nice about not liking something.
I have posted things along the lines of, 'it's nice - just not my style' or 'i really am not a fan'.
I appreciate complete honesty - in my life i'm almost too honest & not everyone appreciates it, but people that know me - know what to expect.

Re: My wish for LIW....
Im all for honestly, but when someone has already plunked down a load of money for something and then to have a whole bunch of girls say its ugly.. that could really upset someone.
I think we should def be honest with someone if they ask for our opinions.. cause then.. well.. they asked for it. lol

Re: My wish for LIW....
In a perfect world people would ask questions and want honest answers. But it seems that many just want to be acknowledged. I'd rather be told 'try it this way, that may look better' and I try to offer advice in the same fashion. Not that I don't like something but maybe it could be better. Does that make sense?
