So I'm constantly busy and don't always eat what or when I'm supposed to which forces me to eat the wrong things in the wrong quantities. I've lost 10lbs so far but need to lose about another 10lbs. I can lose just 3lbs more and look great for my wedding, but ideally I'd love to lose another 10lbs. and was contemplating trying one of these premade diet programs where they send you the food. I've heard TONS of great things about MyChefsDiet, but they're pretty expensive ($31/day minimum) and don't want to spend that much. I've heard that Nutrisystem can be about $11/day and didn't know how much Weight Watchers was, but was wondering who had what experiences with which. Also, does one brand taste better than the other? I'd love any pointers you could give. I'm also considering just cooking more (which is what I'm leaning towards), but since I don't have a lot of time that's going to be a big pain.
Thanks!!!

How does the food taste? Do they send you food for an entire week? Do I have to participate in those weekly meetings (b/c I'm not so sure I want to do that) Or do I buy the food in the supermarket? I want something that requires little thought. I just pick the meals or have a small selection of meals and they send it to me. Is that what weight watchers is like?

If you want to keep the weight off permanently then I suggest WW. The other plans work and are easy since the meals are made for you but they do not teach you how to eat on your own.
WW is work though. I started it when I was working full time and going to school at night and I found that I had to cook on the weekend for the entire week and take the food for the day with me. The results are amazing though if you follow the program. Lost 30 and have kept it off for 2 yrs now.

yeah you have to cook your own food with WW but it teaches you how to eat right!
when i am working i usually cook on sunday for the week as well or i do a lot of crock pot cooking (very easy!) i made nice big salads for luch with grilled chicken!

Re: MyChefsDiet vs. Nutrisystem vs. Weight Watchers
I actually know a LOT about nutrition and how to cook healthy I just don't have to time or energy to do it usually (hence why I want something idiot proof, LMAO ). Which I guess is why I don't want to go to meetings. Maybe they have one or two things I could learn, but I constantly read health and fitness books, magazines, shows etc. so I know a lot of the nuances of living healthy. I'm just usually so exhausted that I don't have time to go food shopping and cook. Hmmmm...if I have to cook with WW that might just make me cook on my own. I actually have a really high end food scale from Williams Sonoma and might just do it the old fashioned healthy way, lol.

Re: MyChefsDiet vs. Nutrisystem vs. Weight Watchers
I don't have the time to go to WW meetings, I do it online.
Its pretty easy, and I like that I can make whatever choices I want, but WW shows me how to keep those choices within a weight loss program.
I couldn't eat prepared foods every day. I would get so tired of it. WW definitely works!

Re: MyChefsDiet vs. Nutrisystem vs. Weight Watchers
I am obviously biased toward WW. I lost almost 50 pounds over 2 1/2 years ago, and now I'm a leader.
In all honesty, if you want a quick fix, go for Nutrisystem or Jenny Craig. But if you want long lasting, (possibly) permanent weight loss, go to WW. By no means is it a quick fix, but it's the healthiest and longest lasting program. Instead of teaching you WHAT to eat, it'll teach you HOW to eat (and that includes eating out, going to parties, drinking, etc.).
There are 2 different memberships - online or meetings. Online is $12.95 per month or $29.95 for three months, but you only get everything online.
With meetings, you have three options:
1. $12 per week + $20 registration fee 2. $179 for 17 weeks (averages to $10.53 per week) 3. $39.95 per month (averages to $9.22 per week). With this option, you also get e-tools, the online companion. So if you get the monthly pass, you can have both meetings AND online.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask away
ETA: I see a couple people posted that you have to cook on WW. That's not true. You don't HAVE to cook. It's easiest if you do, but it's not necessary. You can still eat out too

Re: MyChefsDiet vs. Nutrisystem vs. Weight Watchers
I lost 35 lbs on Weight Watchers and never felt like I was on a diet. The issue everyone tells me about Nutrisystem and Jenny Craig plans is once you get off of their food the weight goes right back on because you are used to eating pre made food. WW you can eat just about everything you just have to learn portion control.
I would def. Recommend WW over any other plans. You have enough of time to loose 10 lbs.

Nutrisystem is absolutely disgusting!!! I've never tried my mychefsdiet but I do know people who were on jenny craig and they enjoyed the food, lost weight and have been able to keep it off once stopping the program. My opinion is weight watchers is the best thing. But for me the only way it works is if you go to the meetings.

Re: MyChefsDiet vs. Nutrisystem vs. Weight Watchers
I loooove WW and have been successful in the past. But for me right now I needed something that is basically all planned out for me. So I'm doing Jenny Craig again. I had lost a lot of weight on it last year. It is so easy and the food is DELICIOUS! Not anything like Nutrisystem which is gross! It's really not that expensive if you consider what you spend daily on food. My first week which was last week I lost 7.2 pounds! I definitely recommended you try it! It works, it's easy and the food is delish!

You're already thin and gorgeous....if you insist on losing up to 10 pounds, go with Jenny Craig.
You're probably already at your ideal weight so WW wont do much for you. Good luck!

On WW you need to lose a minimum of 5 pounds. So plenty of people come in with 10 pounds to lose.

I know, I'm a fan of WW! This is assumes you are above your healthy weight range right?
If you are below your healthy weight range then the program isn't geared to work is it?

Re: MyChefsDiet vs. Nutrisystem vs. Weight Watchers
Because I am such a freak I've actually done all three of these diets!! I did Zone Chef's diet though... and I think that's the same as My Chefs Diet and it was about $34 a day... ended coming to over $1000 a month!! More like $1100~ The food was more gourmet type. They delivered it every morning in a black bag with an ice pack. You actually send them a key and they leave it in your hallway. Which works better with apartment buildings. Again the food is very gourmet... and it's made fresh every day. You heat it up in the microwave. I'm not a gourmet kinda girl... so I wasn't too interested in the food they were giving me. I prefer grilled chicken and mashed potatos instead of crepes etc. I didn't make it through the whole month because I wasn't into the gourmet food at all. But if you are then you might really like this diet. It's kinda like the zone diet... which is almost eating equal amounts of all different food groups.
Nutrisystem - I did this diet a while ago. The food was all very tomato paste based and gave me major major major heartburn. I barely lasted a few weeks or so. Just smelling it in the microwave started giving me heartburn and I had to stop. I gave all the food away for the rest of the month. I should also mention that I do have heartburn and indegestion issues to begin with. But almost all the meals have some sort of red sauce included in them. THe food wasn't bad tasting. It was decent. Certainly not the greatest quality but not awful either.
Weight Watchers - this is a GREAT option. BUT you need to be able to PLAN PLAN PLAN PLAN all your meals! So that can get time consuming!! You are eating regular food that is mapped out on a point basis. The points are determined by your weigth (and if i'm not mistaken your height and age as well?). You are supposed to eat ALL YOUR points each day. And you also get an additianal set of weekly 'flex points' so you can go to town on occasion! You can use the extra (35) flex points in one shot or break them up and use a little each day. They are flexible and can be used at any point. You also get some extra points when you exercise... those points are determined by the exercise you do and how vigorous and how long you do it for. It used to be that the exercise points were able to be used any day throughout the week... but they might have changed this. You can go to a ww center or you can do the online program. I've done both! haha! If you need someone to tell you waht to do then the center is best. If you are independent with it then the online might be best. It all depends on you. Counting the points can get annoying/tiresome... but it's really not that hard. AND you get used to it. We are creatures of habit and most people eat the same things a few times a week... if not then at least a few times a month so you start to memorize the point values of the foods you eat most often. You also have to make sure you get your fruit/veggies and water and protein in each day.
Here is another one just to throw at you.. Jenny Craig!! This is like a cross between WW and Nutrisystem. It's like nutrisystem in that you are getting all your food delived to you. However.. the food is much better quality, looks fresher, and tastes a whole lot better. It's also supposed to be lower in sodium. And when you see the food... it looks good even frozen~ They have frozen and shelf stable food. They all expire after two or three months. You get 3 meals a day plus a dessert... and then you have to add in fresh fruit and veggies and salads. It's like WW in the way the food is balanced and ultimately I think you are more or less eating the same amount of calories each day. I'm on a 1500 calories a day limit. I was doing WW... but it was just too much work for me...I felt like I had a second job planning all those meals... so I switched to JC... but I plan on going back to WW once I'm not sooo busy anymore (probably after the wedding).
Having been on soooooooooooo many diets.... I would HIGHLY recomend WW or JC more than the others!!
I've also done Atkins... and this microbiotic diet with short grain brown rice!! And others too I'm sure.
Good Luck!! If you need anymore information please feel free to FM me!

Re: MyChefsDiet vs. Nutrisystem vs. Weight Watchers
If you want to lose the weight quick for your wedding I would do one of the food delivery programs. Just know that once you stop eating them, you'll gain some weight back.
I would do weight watchers if I were you, it will help keep the weight off. Also, 10 pounds is not a whole lot of weight to lose so I don't think you need to take drastic measures such as the food delivery program.
