Does everyone get their nails done weekly? I normally get them done once a week if its just a manicure... but since december i've been doing UV gel nails. They last for a long time but i have to keep getting them filled. I definitely need to keep up with my nails bc everyone looks at my ring now

I dont for 2 reasons-
1. I never got in the habit- where I grew up, a manicure is usually $15-$25!! So I only got mine done for special occasions.
and
2. They seem to only last 24 hours for me and usually I get a chip before that. :(

But I do buff my own nails weekly and I try to get a pedi every couple of weeks in the summer- they are so cheap here compared to the $50 they average in maine!! Loooove it!!

I get Forever French acrylic over my existing nails. I have gotten them done since I was about 15. My momand I have very weak nails. they are soft and they hurt if we don't have acrylic on them. The doc says it is just a genetic deficiency of something. It's not too bad though...$18 every 3 weeks. and they alwasy look great.

the acrylic makes it worst ...i mean even people who do have strong nails, will mess it all up and their nails will become very weak if they do acrylic...thats not helping and is whats causing them...seriously that is not the solution.

I've tried everything....my mom tried everything all her life....the doc even gave us vitamins to try to help...I've just accepted the fact that I will just have to get my nails done for the rest of my life....no biggie

yeah but maybe use something other than acrylic that is the worst thing for your nails...even silk wrapping is better than that.

hmmm it shouldn't always chip that fast...are they putting a topcoat on your nails after the polish?

I have silk wraps on my nails. I get fill -ins every 3 weeks...sometimes if I'm really busy and do not have time to go I will wait 1 month before I go. My place is a 'ghetto' nail salon and only pay $15 for fill-ins.

getting my nails done is one of the things ive tried to sacrifice to save money for the wedding. i still get a manicure every now and then though...
