I would rather hyphenate my last name but fh doesnt want me to. i just happen to like my last name better..lol

My entire name is so jacked up so at this point it can't get any worse I'm going to take FH name especially because we have a son and I always said i want to have the same last name as my kids. So with this it will be complete

Meli I agree with you.. I'm going to hypenate my last name.. FH last name is common.. My last name is not common..

I havent decided yet. I love my last name. FH's last name is such a common last name ugh. I have thought about the hyphen but Im still thinking. My FH is so wonderful...he says he would be happy no matter what I decide.

same here...

I agree also. I love my last name so much and I HATE his. All our college friends always made fun of it and my parents can never remember how to say or spell it. But I am traditional, so goodbye pretty name.

Although I love me last name I am so excites to take Fh's name our friends already call me Mrs...
but the best part is my initials will stay the same!!

i'm not changing my name. part of it is that, since my dad died when i was a girl, i don't want to give up that piece of him. part of it is that i just like my name better, and as a teacher, i have to hear it every single day of my life. part of it is that i'm going to be 30 by the time i get married, and i've already sort of established myself in my career under my maiden name, so i don't want t get married and find it difficult to call on old connections if i decide to send resumes.

I am excieted to be his mrs's :) however my last name is only 5 letters long and his is 17 letters long, not looking forward to writing that out lol

I'm taking his last name. I don't mind but I'm sure it will be frustrating in school - all of the teachers call each other by their last names and I'm sure none of them are going to stop calling me by my maiden name.

I'm traditional so I'll take FHs name, does anyone know the first steps to changing it? I don't even know where to begin. We are also going out of the country for our HM, I went to apply for a passport, but should I even bother because am I just going to have to reapply after we are married ? (we arent going on our HM until about 6 weeks after the wedding)
