Re: name change question

Good question... I don't know how you can put that in an invitation. I would just try and spread it around by word of mouth.

Re: name change question

why would your new name be on the invites?? Just sign the thank-you cards as Mr. & Mrs. YourLastName.

Re: name change question

I agree. Get thank you stationary with your new name on it. The only problem I see is that people write hecks out to the grooms name. That should be ok though becasue the name change doesn't go through for a little while.

Re: name change question

The thank yous is prob. the best way to do that, but if you really want something on the invites, you can put it in the wording, itself (if your invites are not yet ordered). Something like, 'Mr. and Mrs. X invite you to the ceremony uniting them in holy matrimony' or something like that...

Re: name change question

maybe put a monogram on the invite - it does not scream that he is taking your name but some may undersatand - only would work f you have different letters starting your last names

Re: name change question

my only concerns were the checks i guess because i was afraid we wouldn't be able to put them into the account if we weren't known as mr and mrs. him..if its not an issue then we will just go with the thank yous..BUT what about the announcement at the wedding by the dj..isn't that going to confuse everyone if we're announced as mr and mrs me????

Re: name change question

i would make sure that both the officiant and the DJ know that it will be your last name

have your parents spread the word he is taking your name

also put on favors - thanks for sharing our day Mr. and Mrs. your last name

people will figure it out

My FI thought about going into my family's business and if he did he would have taken my name - it is uncommon but not new people will figure it out
