Name some stores from when you were a kid that you loved but are now OOB

Original post by ambersmom

I used to love, love, love TSS. We used to go to the one in Hempstead and I thought it was soo cool when we parked on the top of the store and took the escalator down. I can still remember every inch of that store, even to how it smelled.

Crazy Eddie's 'His Prices aree INSANE!!!!!!'.

Didn't really remeber the store, but the commericals are burned into my brain.

I was so scared of him when I was a kid that I used to start crying hysterically during the commericals and turn off the TV!!!

I must have had good sense...he was later arrested!

Holy cow!! That place used to make me feel pukey when I passed it in Sunrise Mall

What was that place in Sunrise Mall (not Spensers) towards the end of the mall that had all the 'cool' stuff, like psychedelic posters, the like? I remember buying my first kidney bag pocketbook there, some bandanas and a leather roach clip with the feathers hanging off of it (that I proudly wore while roller skating so that the feathers would wave in the air). Come on', anyone??

Playword in Patchogue

Isn't that where Rockbottom or Waldbaums is now? Remember those lame commercials they had when we were kids?

'Playworld a world of toys, great for girls and great for boys...play world a world of fun...so low, low, low, low, low...PLAYWORLD!!'

I think I heard that 1.5 million times during Christmas season as a kid. I think my Dad threatened to cut the outlet wire on the TV, he was like Pavlov's dog after hearing it.

YES YES YES LOL

Don't remeber Korvette's too much, but my parent's had stuff witht he Korvette price stic ekr on it for years!

Any Nassau folks remember the Farmers Market , that burned down?

I used to get stickers, flavored popcorn & various, flouresenct & personalized things there all the time. It was more of a Flea market than a farmer's market, but they did have the big pickles.

It was in Hicksville, maybe?
