names

I understand if you don't want to participate...but we are having a HELL of a time with boy names. Anybody want to share what they are considering? I am just BLANK. Right now we have Roman and Leo...But I am shaky on both. I want William or James but hubby says nope. Then again he won't take it seriously. His last idea was LUDWIG.

Re: names

I came across the name Owen the other day and I really liked it. Mitchel also has been in the back of my mind for years.

I like James too. A friend of mind is James Brandan, and I really like that.

Another friend just named her son (born Sunday) Gabriel....... hope this sparks some other names for you!

hm...Owen. I like that.

Re: names

Names are very frustrating. We were finally set on names, and SUDDENLY, Patrick wants to renegotiate the girl's name we chose. I refuse. We agreed, and as far as I'm concerned, it's a done deal. I compromised A LOT (I prefer unique names, and agreed to go more mainstream for his taste), and I'm not going back to the drawing board.

For boys, the names we considered were:

Caden
Trevor
Kieran
Blake
Sean
Keaton

We agreed on Nicolas Patrick.

Oh, I thought of another one.....Tristan. More on the unique side.

Re: names

We had a real hard time with boys names and the one we both finally agreed on his cousin had decided on the SAME NAME...and she is due the day before me. Good thing we found out we're having a

Good luck...

Aiden (this is the one we both wanted)
Conner
Blake
Jaccob

Re: names

DH and I agreed that I would pick the girl's name and he would pick the boy's name...

So if this little monkey is a boy, he's going to be:
Vincent Michelangelo

Re: names

JennRenee - I love every single one of those names you posted!!! Very Irish ours can't be TOO Irish though, since we have a very Italian sounding last name! (it's actually Maltese but everyone thinks it's Italian)

Re: names

Teri ~ Great minds think alike!

And how's this for funny?? I'm laughing because a lot of the girl's names we were considering are very Italian, and we have a very Irish last name!!

Re: names

Jenny- we should start a support group for women who cannot find a boy's name that they like
But after 6 months of an all brawl over boy's name with my husband we finally found 2 that we both like and would name the baby. And the funny thing is we found the names on the same day! Oh, and I always practice the name too. I call the baby by that name for a few days to see if I like it or not. That really helps. Here are some that we went thru:

Brady- Scott ultimate fav name after the Patriot's quaterback Tom Brady. I hate football and was not naming my son after a quarterback so it was OUT.

David, Jacob, Joshau, Kevin, Steven, Thomas, Anthony- all names I loved and DH didn't. He is a pain in my butt.

Sean- we both like this name but for some reason I hate the way I say it so I crossed it off the list.

Collin, Connor- DH loved these. I didn't.

Alexander- both like this name but for some reason it didn't feel right to me. It is because I hated it with our chosen middle name.

Landon- I heard the name on a movie and liked it. DH loved it. But I tried it out and it didn't fit so off the list it went.

Shane- I love this name and so does DH. I know most others hate it so it was making me feel like maybe it wasn't the right name. I still like it though and I am allowed to put it back into the top names.

Our 2 finals are:
Jackson and Liam.

I have been working with Jackson (Jack) for the last few days and it is working on very well. Today is a Liam day.

Here are some more to add to your list:
Joseph, Douglas, Christopher
Jonathan (my brother's name and one of my favs)
Brian (I love this name, but it is Scott's brothers)
Peter, Paul (Claud as the cutest Paul)
Ryan, Dylan, Tyler, Brandon, Brendan, Toby, Alec,
Noah, John, Cory, Cody, Jason, Lucas, Luke, Jeffrey, Scott, Ethan, Gregory, James, Matthew.

Re: names

I can't come up with boys names either! There's one I've always liked, but now that I'm older, I'm not too sure?

It's Skyler Thomas...

People say it sounds like a girls name. A friend of mine when I was younger had this name. I have a few girls names...

Kayla
Taylor
Alexis
Jordan

My MIL thinks I'm having a boy since we can't come up with any names. She had the same problem. We'll see!

DH and I are still a little ways from TTC, but we've already got the names! For a boy it will be:

Jack William

Re: names

I dont know what to add, I see you have alot of suggestions, I didnt get a chance to even read them all.

Back to your original: I like Leo, I think it's so cute. We have a friend who's son is Leo and it's adorable.

We had the opposite problem, we could not think of a girl's name that we could agree on. But I felt like I was having a boy all along anyway.

Like I said, I think you are having a girl so dont worry about thing too much.

ETA: Michele! I think Shane is a nice name. Definitely dont let other people's opinions decide or not decide for you. I hope those opinions that said they dont like it were at least solicited. I think it's rude for someone to tell you they hate a name if you dont ask their opinion. I had people do that with me with one of my girls name choices and it really bothered me because it's incredibly insulting.

Re: names

I actually do not discuss names with family at all anymore. I heard the Shane comment sorta thru the grapevine. My best friend who will be the Godmother gives her opinion, but it is more like 'I like this one better' and that is okay with me. I always remind her I didn't name her kids so she cannot get a vote with ours

Honestly, discussing names with any family member is insane. Even if they don't have a verbal comment, the eyes roll or they make a face. So now the answer is 'we aren't sure yet' and there is really no comment for that answer.

Girls are:
Emory Tamara (90% sure)
Holly or Brooke is also in the running.

Re: names

I remember you mentioning Emory. It's a combo of names right? Thats a really beautiful tribute and I think the name is unique and pretty.

I love the name Holly but it would so not go with our last name otherwise it would have been on my list.

Re: names

all great ideas! I like Gannon but he'll NEVER go for it. I also liked Julian, but he nixed that one as well. I am pitching for Nathan and Owen today. We never seem to get anywhere!

He is supposed to pick the boy...but Ludwig is just not an option. My girl picks are Olivia and Amelia. Not sure which. Thanks for the help!
