My father served in the Greek Merchant Marines and his ship was in a small accident, so my grandmother had prayed to St. Demetrios and St. Anna (the 2 churches in the village are named after these saints) to help my father. In return for their help, my grandmother offered to name my father's kids after the saints. So, my brother got named Demtri and I got named Anna

I was named after Nicolette Sheridan - my mom was a BIG Knots Landing fan Only it didnt go well with my middle name 'Renee' so she had to shorten it to Nicole.

After my mother. Same exact name: first, middle, last. They claimed to run out of names (i'm their 3rd daughter, 4th child). Sad thing is, i'd name one of my kids after us too to keep the tradition going

My name is Erasmia (Mia) never get pronounced right! like if you would say in spanish...tu eras mia,...named after my Greek grandmother...but see now most people know me as Mia on the invite it will say Erasmia, I think I am going to confuse everyone!!!

I was named for my great-grandmother's grandmother (would that be great-great-great grandma?) who died in childbirth after giving birth to her second child. My mom promised her grandmother she would name her first-born daughter 'Corina' in memory of this woman who died in her early 20's. My middle name is my other grandmother's name. I used to hate my name but now I think it's ok.

haha including Meagan!! I was not named after anyone..however my middle name is after my Aunt who is my Godmother. My sister carried that tradition with my new neice...born today! Her middle name is Meagan!!!

Well when my parents went to find out the sex of me I had the heart beat of a boy (they didn't have sonograms). So they named me Tony. Well when i came out i was like surprise. So they kept the same name. changed the y to an I. I love it but alot of people miss spell it. And my middle name is kathleen after my godmother.

My name is Carolyn Anne. My mom liked Caroline. My dad liked Heather and Dyan, but they got voted down by my mom. He also liked Lynn, which my mom agreed to. So they put Caroline & Lynn together and I became Carolyn. I also think my mom being a huge Nancy Drew fan had something to do w/ it too (the author's ghostname is Carolyn Keene, and they named my youngest sister Nancy!). My middle name is Anne, after my Aunt Anna, who died before I was born, so unfortunately I never met her.
Fast forward to sometime last year.......... my FH programmed his cellphone so that 'Sweet Caroline' plays every time I call!!!!! He knows I HATE that song!!!! But at least I never have to hear it!!!!! That song just irks me!!!

Well if I was a boy I would have been named after my father and would have been the third, but surprise i was a girl so they wanted Christine...
My mom thought it was too common sounding so she changed it to Kristen and spelled it that way bc not too many people spelled it that way so I would be different. I got my middle name Marie from her.
I guess you could say I was named after Jesus??

Well my mom didn't have a name for me right away because she was afraid to jinx me. Short story I was a pre-mature baby and had some complications and my mom was afraid to give me a name until she knew I was going to be fine. Well she had a boy name picked out in case it was a boy and I think she was sick of all the girls names she had picked out before. My aunt (godmother) came over to the hospital with my cousins kindergarten class picture and she was naming all the girls and one of their names was Gina Marie and my mom fell in love with that name and that is how I got my name...haha She wanted something italian also.
