Narrowed down halls

Narrowed down halls

So my mom and I looked through wedding magazines today and narrowed down halls.

Here is what I'm thinking of looking at:
Fox Hollow
Lands End
North Ritz Club
Glen Cove Mansion
Crestwood Manor
Crescent Beach Club
The Metropolitan
Westbury Manor

Does anyone have any feedback on any of these? I'm looking for something that would let us have the ceremony on the premises and can hold around 200-250 ppl? Also, if anyone knows anything on prices, that would be great as well. The magazine I looked at didn't really list prices but my mom knows some of these are in our range...some I'm not sure about price-wise what they cost.

Thanks so much and sorry for the bombarding!

Hi!

The only venue that FH and I looked at on your list is Fox Hollow. It was very nice. There gardens were beautiful!! The pricing was also good. I got quotes for a Fall 2012 wedding (those probably won't help you). I would definitely make appts to go see each venue that you are interested in.

As you walk through each place, you will know what you like and what you do like. We looked at a total of 6 halls (after a while they start to look alike).

Good luck with your search!

I am obviously biased to Westbury Manor :) I believe their room holds 300-325 and you can have the ceremony on site.

I love North Ritz Club too. I would have gotten married there, but a lot of our friends have already. You can have ceremony there also!

Good Luck :) Happy Planning

I recently went to a wedding at Crestwood Manor and I found it to be small. I'm not really sure if it would hold 200 comfortably. It was a little tight for 120+. The ceremony and reception area are held in the same space. The upstairs part where the CH would be is a little tight. There weren't enough seats/places to sit/stand. Unless it is warmer out, they may have an outdoor CH space. As far as decor, it is very nice. The front is beautiful and so is the staircase walking in. HTH! Good luck with your search

I saw the Metropolitan, and if you have 200-250 some of the seating is upstairs in a sort of balcony. I've heard good things about the food there so if you don't mind the seating arrangement, it's a nice place.

I'm obviously partial but if you're on Jericho Turnpike, check out Woodbury Country Club. Their outdoors is really gorgeous, similar feel to Cresthollow. I found the indoors at WCC less dated than CHCC and the outdoors more understated beauty while still having a party feel. Also, CHCC has a possible 5 rooms and they try to book at least 3 at a time. WCC has 2 rooms. It's possible to have two wedding at a time at WCC or one wedding and another type of party, but the idea of three or more freaked me out. My only advice would be not to stress out too much and try not to get overwhelmed. FI and I looked at 13 halls. I definitely began to panic and become overwhelmed and it just took the fun out of it. Also, something that didn't help me was, as I became more paniced about booking, I began to imagine my wedding at every place we saw. That made me 'fall in love' over and over again and made the final decision more difficult. Advice my FI would give me was that, while you can find a place you love, unless you built the place yourself, perfection is nearly impossible. You have to take everything in and make the best decision for what you're looking for. GL!

Thanks WCC sounds great but my sis is getting married there so I should probably pick something different.

Anyone know anything about the Woodlands?

Oh thanks for that! The ads in the mags looked gorgeous for CM but I had a fear it would be too small. Thanks though- you saved me a trip bc I probably won't go look at that one now. I know nada about it just looked beautiful in the pictures.

I've been to fox hollow and I loved it also (and the food! Kudos to the chef) but I was there for a small wedding but I think they can hold more than that? I didn't see the bigger room that they have.. Do you know how many that holds?

I went to see Glen Cove Mansion. If you're having 250 people that's way too many. I went there with a list around 210 people. The ended up telling me that's around the most they ever fit. The room is an odd shape and the seating on either side of the dance floor wouldn't be even. FM me for more info if you want.

The Somerly I believe has a min of 150 but their seatinf chart says the max is 260. They also have another room that is bigger than that. I'm not sure the min or max on that one but I believe it's in the 300s. We're doing a smaller wedding so we went with the smallest room and that hold the most 150.HTH

Just wanted to clarify for you. The Somerly room holds 216 not 260 :o) They show 18 tables of 12.

its not on your list but jericho terrace has a beautiful room for that many people, and they are reasonable and give you alot for your money.

JT is soooo nice but when my friend had her wedding there there were 4 other weddings. I wouldn't mind one other wedding but I'd prefer mine to be the only one.

I called North Ritz Club today for a price quote but I think it's out of my price range :(

Waiting for a call back from The Metropolitan.

Westbury Manor. We looked at Fox Hollow first and when we went to WM, we fell in love with it immediately and booked it on the spot!
