Re: nationality and traditions
I am French and Scottish and FH is German and Irish, there are a few traditions we will incorporate.
Passing out dragees to guests (chocolate nougat almonds).
A trousseau (a trousseau is like a hope chest that is filled with clothes, linens, etc to help the bride start her married life).
We will have a croquembouche (French celebration cake) on our cake table.
My grandparents had a traditional Scottish 'banns of marriage' (like an anouncement) printed in the local newspaper in the Highlands, in our ancestral village.
Kissing the rings before putting them on at the ceremony.
We will have a bagpipe processional of the Highland Wedding song.

FH is portugese also!!! We are having a number of portugese dishes at the CH and italian and portugese wines. I am thinking of making all the music at the CH Portugese also. I am italian and Irish. All the other food is mainly Italian. Plus Jericho Terrace is so Itaian.
Did you hear about the Portugese Cow Bell tradition ???
