Need advice...
Lets say I have ' a friend' Who has already booked two photographers and a videographer for her wedding day ( from the same company) and knows someone from ANOTHER photography company that does AMAZING work but she couldnt afford that company. Now if this amazing photographer from the other company she didnt book with walked up to her and offered to shoot parts of her wedding 'on the side' and she would get all the prints and negatives for a resonable fee.. do you think 'She' should do it??

Re: Need advice...
She should be careful. Many photographers have it in their contracts that ONLY their company will be doing the professional pics...just a thought

Re: Need advice...
I addition to the other photographer, or instead of? Honestly, I wouldn't use someone 'on the side' but that's just me.

Re: Need advice...
why not?..when you say 'parts' of the wedding, are you talking the key highlights, like ceremony, first dance, cake cutting, etc.? There might be a conflict of interest with the contracts though between the 2 companies. Could she pay the 3rd in cash? I wouldn't want to see one or the other photographers walk out because the other showed up....
tough situation

Re: Need advice...
lol,why do I have the sneaking suspicsion I knwo what you are talking about.. .
so 'she' would cancel the already booked photographres? could she still use them for video? or would 'she' have to find someone else.
and this person would shoot it as not part of his company- is he allowed to do that?
would 'she' get albums?
or just the negs & do it from there?
if 'she' can cancel the first place with out too much trouble, i think it might be ok, but don't do it because you feel pressured to.

Re: Need advice...
well it would be 3 photographers.. that way she would have someone taking pics during cocktail hour and things like that while the bride and groom get their pictures taken..its not someone off the street she actually knows this person very well and they would have a signed aggreement

Re: Need advice...
ok 'she' wouldnt fire any photographers, she would be paying in cash and by parts of the wedding I mean 3 hours.. the church, the cocktail hour, and the first hour of the reception. she would get all the prints plus the negatives ( have to make album by herself) and he would shoot an UNLIMITED amount of rolls

actually thats exactly what he would be doing.. his date is already a guest at my wedding and so would he.... only he would be working for part of it.. the rest of the time he will be eating and dancing with everyone else

Re: Need advice...
ooh .. this is sticky ..'She' is walking on thin ice, I believe .. you'd have to really read through the original contract and make sure everything was 'written' on the sides of both the original photogs/video and the 'on the side' person
But then again, I'm just plain out confused at this one!! (LOL)

Re: Need advice...
hm...I don't know. I'm all for getting as many pictures as you can, but I'd be worried that everyone would be looking at different cameras, or you'd have a lot of shots with the other photographer actually in the shot. I'd stick with the original plan.

Re: Need advice...
This is JMO...........but it seems like a waste to me. I wouldn't want that going on at my wedding, guest/photographer etc. I don't know, I would normally say yes to this, more pics the merrier, but this is all a bit odd..........eta - now that I have seen the price a DEFINTE no-no for me.

He dosent take posed shots this photographer does all candid and photojournalistic shots... most of the things would be the little detail shots.. the ball room during set up, people at ch hour ( while the other 2 photographers are taking pics of bride and dh), the centerpieces, place cards, the outside of the church...

Correct me if I am wrong but I though you only needed one photgrapher to take the formals and the other one goes to the hall. All the pics you are talking about I have asked my photographer to take...Welcome New Vendors
