I don't think you're wrong because I was the same way about the reception. Not that everyone is cooperating, but here is my suggestion. If you are getting heat about this, maybe have someone who can take him out of the church should he act up. That is what my brother is doing with his son. He tends to talk during church. While it's cute, I don't really want him interrupting to the point where people cannot hear anything. So they have my sister-in-laws sister on hand to take him out should he act up. I wouldn't worry, there are always kids in church & you don't know if anyone will bring their child without you knowing.....

I don't think there is much you can do about the church. Are they bringing him to the reception? If so, then you should let them bring him to the church. If not, I don't see why they would want him at the church. But I wouldn't tell them not to bring him.

i agree.

i wasn't really sure how to answer your poll though... wasnt sure if you were asking if you were wrong, or if he should be allowed to come to the church

Well, I would say it kinda depends on how little he is. If hes less than 4 I would say church is not a good idea. Its hard to have them sit or stand quietly. If hes older than 4 he may feel left out if hes not onvited?

All I know is the limo co will make you bring a carseat or booster seat in the limo which will take up a little more room.

It depends. If the whole family will be at the wedding and they have no one to watch the child there is really nothing you can do. Why not stick him in a nice tux or suit and let him walk down the aisle with his parents?
Or explain the situation to the parents and see what they say

Re: need advice

Its a tough situation...

Me personally I would tell them how I feel...

I am having my god-son at the church he is 1 1/2 but.. his dad will be there with him, my moh's mother and sister so if he gets fussy they are going to take him outside.

They are bringing him because I want to get some photos with the baby.

Unfortunately, I don't think you can regulate who comes to the church. Maybe they can designate a close family member to keep him occupied, or bring him a book or something. I know it's frustrating to think of a young child getting wild at church but every time I've witnessed this, someone escorts the child out to calm him and then all is well. Sometimes they do something cute that makes the ceremony more precious (i went to a wedding labor day weekend where the bride's nephew was content standing a good 15 feet from the altar trying to blow out the candle on the altar!) People that noticed thought it was cute, and he was happy just trying to do this for 20-minutes.

I don't think you can say who can and can't come to the church. The day of you won't even care. if the baby acts up someone will take the baby, don't worry.

I agree. If you said no children and the reception or ceremony then you should stand by that... but if the child is coming to the reception, then he should be allowed at the church.
