hmmmmm. tough one. there is no work the next day so it does sound like a good wednesday to have it.
if people want to come to your wedding they will come whatever day it is. i'm having mine on a friday so people may have to take off of work.

Re: Need advice!
I feel like I'm too old to go out & party like I used to on thanksgiving eve & go bar hopping or whatever.
I would LOVE to go to a wedding Thanksgiving Eve. You know everyone has the next day off so do it!

There's a difference between an opinion & being rude! This didn't come off very nice! There is nothing but love on this 2012 board!

Re: Need advice!
Thanksgiving Eve is a party night....well used to be a party night for me, so I don't see this being an issue for your guests, they're ready for a party!! The only thing I would say is to travel that time of year is a nightmare but you said you barely have any OOT guests...so if that's the date you and FH want then book it!!!!!!

Keep in mind no matter what day or time people who you love will come to the party to support you and fh. No one needs to break a bank in order to keep other people happy!
I say do it!

It's Thanksgiving EVE (aka the night before Thanksgiving Day). People need to do what they have to do to afford having the wedding of their dreams. With the way weddings cost these days if it saves the bride, groom and their families money, then I 100% support their decision. I had mentioned in another post that FH's friends had their wedding on TG Eve & they had over 250ppl at their wedding. In the end, your family and friends WILL be there.

Re: Need advice!
I would totally be into going to a wedding on Thanksgiving Eve. It is supposed to be a party day anyway and it is not like you have to get up super early on Thanksgiving. I say go for it!

I agree, the big difference is much cheaper than most of what we were quoted. I appreciate your thoughtfulness and support. And my FH says that too..whoever wants to be there, will be there =)
IF NOT, I promise I will invite you girlies to our wedding to fill up any seats and we can PARTAY!!!

Re: Need advice!
You know your family & friends better than any of us. So since you stated you want something small & intimate then I dont see why there should be a problem to have it thanksgiving eve or any day you want. The ppl who want to be there for you and your FH will do their best to be there for you on your big day. If you were my close friend or relative I would definently attend your big day whenever you decided to have it. Thats what save the dates are for. To give ppl a head up of your wedding date so they can make arrangements. I say go for it. Especially if your saving $$$.

I think going to a wedding on Thanksgiving Eve would be fun! I never go out that day bc I'm not into bars, but I would def go to a wedding!

It is kind of rude -especially considering you read the post wrong.
That aside, I would totally go to a wedding on Thanksgiving Eve. Basically everyone has the next day off and the night before is a party night anyway!! Good Luck!

Re: Need advice!
Those who love you and care will prepare ahead of time to be there! And those who need to be rude about it aren't worth your time! :)

Honestly I think this is extremely rude. If any of your guests would reply 'decline' simply because they didn't like the day of your wedding, then good riddance to them and hope they send a gift!

Re: Need advice!
I think that it is a great idea. Unfortunately when you are on a budget you have to be creative. This is a great way to be creative and get what you want.
Look at it like being a Friday night. Everyone basically is off the next day so why not have fun with your friends and family at your wedding.
I love the idea.

Re: Need advice!
I won't comment on the rudeness bc I see it's already been done
I went to a good friend's wedding the day before Thanksgiving. A great time was had by all and she had over 250 people there!
I got all excited bc I thought I had a DATE TWIN since the date under your name says 12/1/12!!
