I am trying to pick out a date for our wedding...so far, FH and I agree that Thanksgiving Eve would be a good choice for our guests. We have no out of town guests, EVERYONE lives locally and this shouldn't cause a problem.....
I have heard mix reveiws, but I just wanted to see what you girls thought of this =)
Honeymoon would be taken sometime after Thanksgiving or even after Christmas.

Crashing: I dont mean to be rude or antyhing but If I was a guest at ur wedding, i will reply 'Decline' to ur RSVP...
I want to be with my FH & Family on Thanksgivings day...
Ladies there is no reason to get upset at this comment. She already said she doesn't mean to be rude. There was no malice intended she was just giving her honest opinion. I know we are all about the love on the 2012 board so show that to her. Even if she got the date wrong some people have to travel thanksgiving eve to get to their families. She wasn't trying to start drama and sadly to say it looks like it would be us girls that are.
With that said have your wedding when you want and do what's best for your budget and happiness.

Re: Need advice!
I would definitely attend a wedding for my family or friends on thanksgiving eve! I can see how it might be a slight inconvenience for some people re traveling or prepping for Thanksgiving dinner, but ultimately all those who love and care for you will be there and have a great time. And you have the whole weekend to recooperate after partying!

If you are sure that everyone is local (and no one goes away) then I think it's perfect.

I feel it was the way she wrote this statement was rude. I know I wasn't the only one who saw this. However, she did say 'Not to be rude' and all of that. I just think there is always a way to say things. But that's just me.

I won't comment on the rudeness bc I see it's already been done
I went to a good friend's wedding the day before Thanksgiving. A great time was had by all and she had over 250 people there!
I got all excited bc I thought I had a DATE TWIN since the date under your name says 12/1/12!!
Yes, I was ALMOST your date twin, but we decided to do a different date. And BTW, your RH is going to be BEAUTIFULLY decorated!!!!! I cannot wait to see your pictures for when you and your FH get married!!!

Hey, did my FM help prompt this idea??
I obviously think its a great idea since it's my wedding day hehe.... and my family who usually does Thanksgiving day at their house are actually excited to have the excuse to pass it off to someone else in the family (in-laws who I don't know). Others have had the idea to do the prep Tuesday night instead (who cares if it's one day ahead or two???). Also, we noticed that in the same way some people would be travelling away for thanksgiving, we have some special folks in our lives who maybe wouldn't be able to fly in just for a wedding but would be in anyway for thanksgiving. So, it can go either way. And yea, the friday after is definitely no bargain!
GL and let us know what you decide!!!
I agree, people have enough time to prep and I am really excited about this wedding date if chosen. Then me and you can be DATE TWINS!!

I have heard of girls with Thanksgiving-Eve asking their RH to decorate early for their wedding-- I think if you're at a hall where you're one-wedding-at-a-time they would do this for you since they would normally decorate around that time anyway and it wouldn't effect anyone else's wedding-- so if you love the Christmas decor, it's still a possibility!
