need advice about children

Original post by jnc12306

My FH has a 7 year old daughter and our best friend has a 4 year old daughter we dont have a RB so I was thinking of making the 4yr old the florwer girl and having his daughter bring down the rings, Is this a bad IDEA? I think it would be special. ANother thing is they are the only 2 kids at the whole wedding I dont know if I want them to stay the intire time. They are very needy!!! I was thinking of letting them stay for coocktail our having a babysitter take them back to the hotel for their own private party then bringing them back for dessert. Is this rude? I just want people to be able to enjoy themselves without them klinging to everyone!!

I absolutely LOVE the idea of his daughter bringing down the rings!!! I don't think there are any 'girl' or 'boy' jobs at a wedding. She is important to both of your lives and giving her that job to do will make her feel really special.

Are the two of you planning on including her in the ceremony by presenting her with a necklace or something? If so, she could carry that down too.

Im not worried about other people. I just wish we had more kids at the wedding. Their are 2. if there were more i would have no problem they would play together but i dont know. the babysitter was another option and as for the bridal suite that was another idea but it isnt really big

I don't think the ring bearer needs to be based on sex. Who cares? It's a position of honor.

ITA. But I'm not a very traditional person anyway
