Need advice on healthy eating

Need advice on healthy eating

I was thinking lately about eating more healthy than I have been. I was having a hard time sticking to the WW plan. I didn't like always having to count the points of what I ate during the day, so lately I havent been writting things down. I found that I gained weight. I now weigh 169. I am not too proud of this, and I would like to lose that weight again.
Does anyone know of an easy way to do this? I try not to eat junk food, and its hard because I find myself hungry in the evening hours after dinner. Those are the worst hours for me.

I was thinking that maybe I should eat 'brown foods' instead of 'white foods'. Since white foods turn to sugar and that turns to fat. Do you think if I ate brown rice, whole wheat bread, and whole wheat pretzels with no salt instead of eating white bread, white rice, and regular pretzels, I would see a difference?

I know a big part of me not losing weight now is because I have not been excersizing. I am having a hard time getting into any excersize regiem now....especially because it is the winter, and I get so lazy. I don't know what to do.....I hope some of you can give me some ideas.
Thanks,
Scott

Hi Scott,

Ive lost about 30 pounds since i got engaged... and honestly, i think working out and staying fit is the best way to get in better shape. You have to force yourself to do it if you really want to see the results. I also changed what i ate, no real 'diet'. I bring lunch everyday, and have oatmeal for breakfast and a sensible dinner. If im in the mood for pizza, i'll have pizza, but then be good the next day and make sure i get my exercise in. Good luck!! push yourself, you can do it.

I think eating wheat and oat is better than white flower. However, that alone is not going to bring you to the weight you want to be at.

I really believe exercise is key. And, if you exercise you will be able eat those refined white flower products on occasion.

For a while I was eating really really well. Only one meal with bread, pasta etc....the rest all protein or fruit and veggies + exercise. For some reason this winter I have not been keeping to that reimine and just working out and I have not gained back more than a pound or two. Just make sure you are burning more calories than you are taking in. That way you will lose weight.

Good luck

That will help because the 'brown food' has a higher fiber content and fiber will make you feel more full. If you really want to lose, you should exercise. I have completely fallen off the exercise wagon and I can't seem to get back on, so I am in no position to really offer advice on that one. I keep saying I want to lose 10 lbs, but I know it is not going anywhere until I get my butt in gear.

when I was on my total healthy eating kick (still am partially) I made everything from whole foods...if that makes sense...nothing from boxes or packages, etc...

Thats great! First get used to doing some form of exercise everyday or at least 4 days per week. The hardest part is to just get your but to the gym, or where ever it is you go to exercise. But gradually work your way up by doing something more strenuous each time you go. You body gets used to doing the same thing, so eventually you have to change your routine and make it harder.

Good luck!

Im not going to be going to a gym, I am just going to walk everyday. AS soon as it gets warmer out I will be able to go to the park near my house and walk 3 mlies a day....

Walking is great! But you should really consider using some weights. Pretty soon the walking isn't going to be enough because your body will get used to it.

Just a suggestion.

I have a bad back though, and I cannot lift weights anymore...I used to lift when I was younger. So for now I will just stick with walking
