Need Bridal Shower Help

I'm throwing my sister's bridal shower in a few weeks and need to make centerpieces. We're going for a beachy theme since that is the theme of her wedding, but I would like to incorporate little Mickey heads since she is getting married in Disney. I've been told by my mom that she wants centerpieces that we do not have to take home. I was thinking cupcake towers, but I feel that they might be too birthday party-ish. Any ideas???

Also, how do I write in the invitation that there will be a wishing well to encourage guests to bring a small gift for it???

TIA

as for the cp's, you could always just give them away at the end of the night-one of the '09 girls just got beach themed vases at the christmas tree shop for 10 each..

Someone on here, I think megan_gallagher, did a REALLY awesome centerpiece that had fish in it. I think it's in her photo albums.

And then you could always give them away at the end of the party.

As for gifts, I think that it is OK to include the registery info since the bride is not sending them out herself. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Michael's has some cute beachy stuff as well as some Disney stuff. Some of their beachy vases were on clearance the last time I was there.

Also, when I threw my sister's bridal shower I just wrote 'wishing well' on the bottom of the invite. Just got an invite for a friend's and it says the same thing.

Good Luck!

Yea for my sisters bridal shower that had a beach theme we had buckets that look like tin beach pails in different beachy colors and we put sand and beach grass inside. We also decorated a bit more by decorating the bucket. We played a game and raffled them off at the end of the party.

I read someone here did those cool cookie centerpieces, maybe you can do a mickey and minnie bride and groom and put them in a clear vase filled with sand and shells.

I am parshal to a cupcake one because that's what my aunt is doing for me. She is using my colors ( I don't really have a theme). I think it's cute. Do what she will like.

Why don't you get some inexpensive vases from the dollar store or Xmas tree shop and fill them with sand and shells. You can paint little Mickey heads on the shells too, which would give it a beach/mickey feel!

Thanks for all of the replies! Hopefully the invites to the shower will go out this coming week! I'll be writing them tomorrow. As far as centerpieces go, I'm still not sure what I'm going to do. I've been to Michaels and whatnot, looking at what they have. Interesting items, but leaning towards cupcakes now. I love the idea of making the centerpieces the prizes for the games too! Still thinking...ideas are more than welcome...

Also, what is your opinion on favors. I bought (months ago) mini beach themed cookie cutters and planned on attaching one to each favor. The favor was supposed to be chocolate wedding cakes...here's the problem. We attempted to make one last night and it just didn't work at all! So now, we went to Michael's and found these cute little seashell books (pocket sized) with pens attached. We also found seashell themed tealights. My mom was with me and said that we could do the books, tealights, and cookie cutter. But I think it's just too 'odds and ends' -ish. What do you think?? The book alone just looks to chintzy (sp?) though! Also, I don't like to give useless favors...opinions???

TIA

I don't necessarily think all of those things together would be too 'odds & endish'-- but to maybe make some cohesion could you put them all together in individual little bags or wrapped in cellophane with a pretty ribbon so you aren't just handing a bunch of items to the guests?

Oh yeah, with the three things, if we decide to use them, we would definitely wrap them together, but I don't know if it just looks weird...

I feel like since they are all related to the beach, the cohesion comes through, ya know?
