NEED Cat help!!! Updated Diagnosed

Im getting barely any sleep and Im so frustrated and stressed its affecting everything.

Big guy (Buddy) is peeing all over the house. I try to catch him and point him the boxes.

He doesnt eat as much but drinks a TON of water

we tried to take the Little guy (Sparky) into our bedroom at night because he torments Buddy. It's helped but now we have a wired kitten in the bedroom attacking our facing and wanting to play at 3am

AGH

We finally made an appt with the vet for next weekend. Any clues?

Its good you are taking him to the vet, it could be medical. How many litter boxes are in the house? Are they covered or open?
Try putting out another one in a quiet area. Sometimes one cat with torment the other while he's in the box, so more than one and with covers might help.

both have tops.

He hasnt had an accident yet on the floor but I had to through out a tablecloth (ick)

We were thinking of putting a litter box upstairs since right now both boxes are downstairs by our enterance.

We hope the vet can help

I NEED SLEEP

Bring him to the vet...It could definitely be medical...maybe kidney stones, leukemia, etc.

Depending on the age of the cat -
If the cat is older say around 10 - he/she may have hypothryoidism.

My 11 year old cat was just diagnosed with that.

One of the symptoms is excessive drinking of water -

FM me if you want more info.

how old is he?

my cat who was 13 had similar symptoms but lost ALOT of weight- we brought him to the vet and ended up being a kidney disease. Im not saying this is it- im sure its not but def especially if hes an older cat keep an eye on him! I hope everything turns out OK please keep us posted!!!!

I had the same problem with my cat. Always keep the litter clean. He may not like where the litter box is. Change it and reintroduce it to him. He may have an infection Buy him the dry food for uninary track infections.

My dog had diabetes. We gave him insulin 2x a day. I would check his urine each morning and figure out how much insulin he needed. After a while, it became routine and easy to do.

Ask your vet about keeping a bottle of Karo corn syrup in the house. Just incase he needs
sugar fix. My reggie never needed it, but it was good to have. They can live a good life, if you do what you are supposed to.

$55 for the insulin
$25 for food for two weeks of week and one month of dry

started him on his shots yesterday and poked myself already with the needle!

We can't check his sugar levels. You can't put a indicator under a kitty butt while he's tinkling and its impossible to read from wet litter.

So I have to keep visiting the doctor to see if he's regulated. LOVELY

We're estimating our costs to be nearly $2,000 a year for this illness.

Oh, V, I'm so sorry. Isn't it so frustrating when we try to do things for their health and they fight us on them??? It's not like they can be reasoned with, you know?

Re: NEED Cat help!!! Updated Diagnosed

I'm sorry to hear about it, but you CAN get plastic beads instead of litter from the vet. They don't absorb the pee and you can get your sample that way.

I would have to go to the vet every month with my cat without these. This way she only has to go annually, and I just deliver the urine sample monthly to the vet. It saves on the cost of the visit without jeopardizing her health.

Hope this helps.
