Need Clergy, please help

Hi Ladies. Its me again. Ok, I told you my sister got engaged. Well, she wants to start looking at halls but I think first she needs someone to perform the wedding. Here is the situation:

Her fiance is catholic and has been married before, they are legall divorced, but in the catholic religion without an annulment....... and he has a child;

It will be my sister's first marriage and she is catholic as well.

They want to get married by a catholic priest but we don't know if one would be willing to marry them without them getting an annulment. They really don't have the time/money for an annullment right now. Also the ex-wife is a nightmare and will definitely fight it all the way. All they want is to get married and have a nice wedding. Can anyone help us as to what they can do. Or recommend someone she can speak with. PS. she wants to get married at the reception site. Thanks!
Denise

If you go to the Rockville Centre Diocese there are telephone numbers for every parish, I would just call and ask. I had to do that to find a Priest who performs an interfaith ceremony. You may get a few nasty remarks but there is soneone out there who can do the ceremony. www.drvc.org

Re: Need Clergy, please help

We are being married by a man who left the Roman Catholic priesthood to marry and have a family. He is going to perform a Catholic ceremony, and he is licensed by the state of NY. He is recognized by the Old Catholic Church, but not the Roman Catholic Church anymore. I don't want to get started on that subject. I am divorced, annulled and will marry a divorced Protestant. The Roman Catholic Church will not consider this a valid marriage. But, I don't care anymore. If you think you might be interested, email me for his email address.

fyi

a friend of mine was in the same situation...DH divorced with a child - while the ex is cooperative, they didn't get an annulment. The two instead got married at a hall with a Protestant minister...she said a few months later that she got a letter from the catholic church saying that her marriage might be recognized by the Catholic Church...

My situation is the same, we are getting married by a female christian minister. I have a co-worker that got married last year by an American Catholic priest, they marry you anywhere & you don't need an annulment. If you're interested I'll get more info for you.
