Need food suggestions for our wedding!

Hey all.

We're making all of our own food for our wedding and could use some suggestions!

Thus far, we have decided on the following items. What else do we need? We're having around 50 guests.

Burgers and dogs
Sausages
Asstd. finger sandwiches
9 layer dip and tortilla chips
Salad
Shrimp cocktail
Spinach lasagna
Cheese and crackers
Asian cole slaw
Veggie platter
Spanakopita
Waldorf salad
Spinach dip in bread bowl

Chips & dip?

Sounds like a bbq - what about corn on the cob?

By the way, it also sounds like the most fun wedding ever - can I come??

Corn on the cob! Good idea!

Sure you can come! As long as you don't mind casual dress and drinking keg beer from plastic cups.

I would definitely add a pasta salad too, like tri-color rotini with veggies (and olives?) and italian dressing. I like to toss in some salami and parmesan cheese too. Sounds like a lot of fun!

Spanakopita - sounds interesting - what is it?

How about pigs in a blanket (phyllo dough)

I also like platters of assorted cheeses, like blue, cheddar, brie...you just stick a few knives on the platter and some fruit and crackers and it's the best.

Your wedding sounds like it's going to be awesome

I vote for a pasta salad too...

My mom does a greek-style bowtie pasta salad with feta cheese, black olives, cherry tomatoes and some seasonings. It's so yum.

Or potato salad...it's not a barbecue without that!

I like the pasta salad idea, but I would do it without salami. I don't eat meat, and I always have a hard time at BBQs or buffets when all the food (or almost all of it) has meat in it!! But it sounds like you have a nice variety of foods so far!!

My sister-in-law makes these really good appetizers- it's just bread cut a certain way spread with cream cheese, rolled up and wrapped in bacon. Then it's baked on a cookie sheet. It's easy to do and YUMMY
