Ladies, as some of you know I've had a rough last month looking for any & all teaching positions on LI and Queens. I filled out every online LI district apps & sent out countless resumes & called hundreds of schools, but to no avail.
This week was really bad going on interviews at preschools/private centers for 20k jobs!!!!!! I'm on every sub list too but really need something solid.
Well, I got a call for a teaching position at a Catholic school in Queens for a job that JUST opened up and I have an interview at 1pm. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all works out. I would LOVE to teach this grade & would love to be in a 'real' school (not a 2 room center).
It is such a tough market out there and I realize I shouldn't have left my job in a catholic school in manhattan until I had something....
FH & I have been at e/o b/c I'm so frustrated lately, so this job would be a God send....Please keep me in your thoughts at 1pm today!!!!!!!!!!

I feel ya, my FH is in the same position, still no job! It is def. the root of a LOT of stress in our home!

Good luck!! Which school is it? My FBIL just entered college this year, but he went to catholic school in elementary and high school and he lives in Queens.

Girls, I'm doing the HAPPY dance. Your good wishes definitely paid off b/c the principal offered the position to me (even though she had another interview right after me. She said I made my decision). I have my class list (the present 3rd grade has too many kids so they are splitting it in 2), school keys and I start Monday, although she is giving me the day to set up my room & get organized & then the class will be split officially on Tuesday. It's a Catholic school in Queens.
I am soooooooooooooooo thrilled though!!!!!!!
FH is taking me out to dinner.
