Need Greece Info from those that have been

I'll be in Crete (Chania) for ten days this August and I am thinking of going to Santorini for part of that time. It seems like I can only fly there by flying to Athens first. Does anyone know if there is a ferry or some other way to go directly from Crete to Santorini? How long does it take? Also, any hotel suggestions for Santorini would be greatly appreciated.

Hi.

My husband and I went to Crete for our HM and yes we did go to Santorini by boat for a 1 day trip.

Threw our hotel we booked it with a group. It took 3 hours or so by boat I believe or was it 4. Definently do it. Santorini was wonderful. Dont forget extra film and your video camera when you go there. Gorgeous!!!!!!

I think you can only fly from Athens to Santorini...

However they say the best way to see the island of Santorini is by boat - and it's true - it is jaw dropping.

We went to Greece on our honeymoon. We ended up going back to Athens (from Crete) to take a plane to Santorini. DH didn't want to do the boat ride. We stayed in Chania at the Aegean Palace Hotel. It was beautiful.
