The Estate at the East Wind has a beautiful outside cocktail hour, but it also has 2 indoor cocktail hour rooms (one of which is an atrium) that could accommodate people on a rainy day. I am definitely biased though!

I was going to say the same thing!

Re: Need Help :(

So far I've looked at:

Crest Hollow Country Club - was very nice and liked it a lot, but a little nervous that there were 3 weddings going on at a time.

Atlantica - Too small for my party - they say they can do 220 but I saw it set up for 180 and it looked packed.

Venetian Yacht Club - It was really nice but just wasn't my taste I guess.

Land's End - This was gorgeous and I'm going again Sunday.

Bourne Mansion - Again, gorgeous. But, very expensive per plate considering how many guests I have. I just got a sudden offer to give me a big price break from them that was a significant reduction, but the site fee ($4,500) is still an annoying an additional expense that adds $22 per head to the price before you even get to tax/gratuity. The property is owned by St. John's though, and I go to St. John's Law School, so I'm trying to get them to make up a 'student discount' for me. Hahaha - we'll see about that.

Swan Club - Also too small - the room was set up for 180 and looked full and it was their biggest room. The outside was gorgeous though. Too bad they don't do outdoor cocktail hour.

Floral Terrace - Great deal ($100 per head on a Saturday including extra hour, viennese hour and honeymoon in crete), but not really what I was looking far (e.g., no outside grounds whatsoever - not even for photos, let alone cocktail hour). That bridal suite is INSANE though!

Westbury Manor - Gorgeous outside, but with my amount of people the way they explained the cocktail hour to me, if it had to be inside due to weather, made me unhappy. The cocktail hour would basically be spread throughout 3 rooms, and it didn't feel cohesive to me. Also, while I was outside touring the grounds all I could hear was intense traffic. This was at 5pm on a Thursday - I would hope that during a cocktail hour on a Saturday it would not be like that, but considering I might do it on a Friday that weirded me out.

So basically Bourne Mansion and Land's End were the ones that were the most 'me' so far.

Def check out Larkfield Manor. The larger cocktail hour room is amazing. They have an indoor/outddor setting. The patio is amazing. Includes a stone bar, couches...just amazing. FM me if you want specific pricing. They were by far the most bang for our buck of all the places we looked into.

you might want to check out the crescent beach club. it's in bayville, so it's kinda far from port jeff, but it's gorgeous. it's on the water, the cocktail hour is indoor/outdoor and the banquet hall has a very large dance floor/wooden floor. i was looking for many of the same things you were and this is where we ended up booking. if you'd like any more info, FM me. good luck!

the fox hollow is gorgeous. but i suppose that's a biased answer.
my brother had over 200 guests at his wedding at the swan club and my other brother had over 200 at his at Westbury Manor and niether were croweded.
They were both amazing weddings.
The swan club really blew me away with how they did it.

are you inviting 200 people? or is that after you figured out the around 20% decline rate?

if you are inviting 200 guests... you'll be more than comfortable at any of the locations you mentioned.

i read the places you have seen so far--

land's end is fantastic!!!!

the best wedding we have been to YET!

the service, food, everything was outstanding...

you really can't go wrong there and the views were beautiful.

the CH was so nice- it was outside on the deck with the ferries going by- BEAUTIFUL.

Well the way we set our list up was we have a list of everyone that we would invite if we had no monetary limits, and then everyone who absolutely has to be invited no matter what. I have a really large family, so the list of guests who absolutely have to be invited is 200 people. I did not know about the 20% decline rate - is that how everyone usually does it? I guess if it is I'd be inviting 240, but I estimated more like 220 to get 200 people. Do you think that's too few?

With Westbury Manor - how was the cocktail hour setup for your brother? Was it inside?

Wow - just looked at your pictures, Larkfield does look really nice. It's right near my house too - maybe they'll let me check it today.
