I've never heard of such a thing, but then again, we don't say boo during our ceremony, so I have no idea how it's supposed to work in the Catholic church. He flat our refused, you tried to reason with him?

i think that is very weird. whats the reason behind it?
i would just memorize them ...it might end of flowing nice anyways
We have noooo idea what the reasoning behind it is. He was just against it from the beginning.... FH called but deacon didnt call back so now we are waiting.... We were thinking of memorizing them, but then think it would be a disaster if one of us forgot parts of the vows or even left out a whole sentence. I feel like I wouldnt even want to chance it... its a very important moment for us, I dont want to stress about something that he should be doing in the first place. Why is he making this such a big deal??? I really dont get it...
Ali, the only other option besides memorizing it was for him to print it up on a piece of paper and point it towards us. I think its embarrasing to do that! I am just very upset with this whole church process.... they are not making things easy for us at all.

Re: Need Help......
Do you have to use the standard vows, or can you have your own? Maybe it's easier to memorize your own, since it will be coming from the heart. I'm sorry your church is being so difficult.

We were just going to use standard vows... but the ones we picked had like an extra line than the other traditional ones. Its not crazy long- but its not something I want to worry about... us brides have enough to stress about lol
Hopefully the deacon will call today because Im dying to know what he is going to say....
