Need help ASAP going crazy lol

Original post by Espo22

Ok i have a bit of a dilemma and i basically have to come up with something NOW lol and dont know what to do. The invitations i like, the one with the rhinestone buckle that i posted last week, well seems i wont get them until closer to the end of march, now i dont know what to do. Do I just let it be and send them out around the end of march and put May 1st as my rsvp which would give my guests a month to RSVP or do i go with other invites? I really love these so thats why i am trying to say its ok lol.

Also an 07 bride came on here and told me she ordered a sample from the same place as me and also from a texas company and the one in texas did the same invite and for a little bit less, IF you are on please tell me which company, ill call them and see if they can get it to me faster.

Im freaking out and trying to decide what to do and would have to do it soon especially since the invitation place is in london and i would have to call soon since they are a few hours ahead of us

i say go for it. I'm giving my guests 4 weeks to reply. The OOT guests might have less depending on when they get their invites. I'm planning to call them towards the rsvp date for a reply.

I honestly think that 2 weeks isn't enough time to get your head count, finalize numbers and create seating charts.....I know that there are so many people who wait on sending back invites, even though there is a RSVP date. Unless you are willing to throw all late RSVP'ers at one table, then I think it's cutting it really close. You should do a RSVP of AT LEAST April 17 in my opinion. I wouldn't take any chances...

I agree, your rsvp is very close to you rwedding date. My wedding is July 11th and my invitation person told me to put June 1st as an RSVP date so I have plenty of time to do the phone calls, seating chart, escort cards, etc.

Is there any way you can move the RSVP date up so you have atleast another week if not more????

Denise, you LOVE those invites, so you should get them! Let the company know how important it is to get them asap and hope that they come in sooner than expected. But I think 6 weeks is fine.

im willing to not care about those who dont rsvp on time, and that is whether i sent them ahead of time or not. If by May 1st, two weeks before my wedding somebody doesnt have the decency to reply to me then i dont care about them coming. If someone doesnt have the courtesy to send a rsvp 2 weeks before or doesnt know yet then my wedding is not important to them so they dont have to come, less money for me to spend on the RH anyways. For my e-party i saw how inconsiderate a few people were. For the most part most send back but even the day of people were changing their answers which was ridiculous. I had some calling me a couple of times the day of my e-party while i am running around doing so much, meanwhile i had paid for everybody already the week before so not like i could've changed it the day before. Whoever doesnt answer me by may 7th which is 10 days before then i dont want them coming lol its as simple as that. Just like my wedding is not important to them then its not important for me that they come. I really dont want people coming who dont give answer two weeks before, i am not going to stress myself out for inconsiderate people, its really not worth it. Those who care will rsvp right away

Ive seen so many girls on here stressing about what other guests did regarding not rsvp'ing and i cant believe how inconsiderate some people are. I mean 2 weeks before we'll all have so much to do and if these guests dont realize that or care about that, then i won't care either. Ive seen what some can do and its not worth it

So then if you think that under 2 weeks is enough time to gather lists and make seating charts, go for the invites you want. It would suck to leave something that will stress you out beyond belief to just days before the wedding. I'd be scared of freaking myself out, breaking out in stress pimples or becoming a Bridezilla! To me, invites are a microscopic detail of the wedding and noone even notices them.....I'd sacrifice an invite over stress, especially before my wedding. JMO

I definitely agree with this. If you love the invites order them. Hopefully most people will respond ahead of time. If not then I agree it's not worth the stress. My friend actually made the RSVP date 3 weeks before and he got everything done in time.

I'm banking on the fact that I'll be off for almost a month before the wedding and will have time to do stuff too. Some people make it seem like it's the hardest thing in the world, while others make it seem like a breeze! lol

idk - i know you say you dont care about the late RSVPers but honestly, it doesnt matter if u care or not

there are going to be people that RSVP late, and still think they are coming - i felt like saying 'too bad, so sad' to the late responders BUT do you really want a scene at your wedding when people realize they dont have a place card?

just keep that in mind - i think its cutting it a bit close bc the last two weeks can be so hectic

good luck with your decision!

I only gave 5 weeks to respond. they don't need more time. They all know when the wedding is anyway.

Just be careful b/c if there is something wrong witht he invite then you are really in trouble. I hate to be debbie downer but I just went through this with my dress.

well ill be away the end of april anyways because ill be in vegas so i will have to wait to do seating charts until the beginning of may no matter what. Most of my seating chart is done, for all of fh's family which all said they are already coming and thats a big chunk of our guest list about 100 ppl lol, after that i have tables for now and once i get rsvps i change it around and have alternatives for some that i am not sure about. We're doing tables by fh's family, my family, his friends and then his friends are in groups his LI friends his howard beach friends, his astoria friends so their tables are done lol then bp, my friends, his coworkers, then the rest are misc so its basically their tables i have to do.

I work better under stress, for eparty i did the same thing, i did seating charts before i sent out rsvps and as answers came in i changed around as i got them, if i had to make any changes.

I am trying to figure it out, i might go with my 2nd choice but bc of other reasons not sure

That's great then if you already have a chart with people that you know are coming! I'd make sure the company will guarantee a date of delivery and then go for it then!

well the same with the shower, alot of our old school families dont know how to rsvp lol, all along i asked MOH how it was coming along and who she was missing, before even the RSVP date i had fh call his family and ask, and my mom call our side to call and ask. Same with his friends gf's and all of them he found out ahead of time. Bc of this, i was able to update her all the time about who is coming and who is not and when i asked her a few weeks ago how she is doing with RSVP's she actually answered, not bad at all i dont have any problems bc FMIL called her and told her exactly who was coming and who wasnt ahead of time, my mom answered her too and Fh answered her about others so bc of this she didnt have any problems. I didnt want her to deal with the RSVP bs lol and luckily she didn't

I do realize some do RSVP late, for my e-party when i had to go and give them the seating chart, i was changing it as i was there lol.

i have to since i wont be here end of april, so even if i do april 17th rsvp, there will be ppl who do rsvp late and fh and my mom will have people to call and im sure theyll get answers about a week later and when they have the answers i wont be here, this way they can x out anybody who doesnt come or leave it as is...when i get back then i can make whatever changes. The e-party was definitely a good rehearsal lol, i realized i had to do alternative tables just in case and different seating arrangements for different scenarios

You deserve the invitations you love I would be very up front with the company, tell them that any delay in completion could cause you a major problem with timing your final counts, ect. Maybe they could even give you some type of 'priority' printing, I'd ask it never hurts.
Good luck

Go for it! You should be fine. I think 4 weeks should be plenty of time to RSVP and besides the worst case is that you will have a few extra calls to make to those that don't respond. Those people probably would not have responded anyway even if you gave them 8 weeks.

Denise, it seems as if you answered your own question. If you are not bothered by the time crunch or missing RSVP's then just go for it.

I am too anal to play it so close but you seem to have a handle on things so maybe you should just go for it
