PLEASE someone needs to help me! A friend of mine went into Adrienne's in Islip, found a dress she LOVED, but they wouldnt tell her the designer, only that it's a new designer. She was not impressed the service from one person and was shocked at the cost of alterations (I know they are pricey but I know mine were cheaper!) She really needs to find out the name of the designer.
It was a Belle (Beauty and the Beast) style dress. Ballgown. It was a plum color, (more like lavender) also comes in ivory and white, sweetheart neckline and had rosettes (lavender ones) on the skirt. If anyone knows what I am talking about PLEASE let me know!!!
TIA!!!

There is also an Adrienne's in Manhattan, you can try describing it to them and see if they tell you who it is.
Yes, they are connected to each other. I called the LI one to ask if they had a particular dress and they told me to call the one in the city.

Try 'threatening' them with the federal textile law... not sure exactly what the law is, but maybe they dont know that either! and if you tell them it is illegal to with hold that kind of information according to a FTC's Textile Act (federal Trade commision)... Their is an 11,000 fine PER violation.
I remember reading about it and i had a similar thing happen to me and i am SOOO mad, they told me it was made by the stores designer --- i recently found it on line! I filled out a complaint form for the incident to find out if what happened was infact illegal... if it is they will have atleast 3 violations, as they told me all 3 dresses i loved where made by the stores designer and it was not available anywhere else only through them... customers do have rights, i am just not sure how to interpret the 'official' law?!?! But worth a try, the bridal consultant might not know how the actual law works!!

Thanks for that info!! I may have my friend do that. It's really shady that they do that. I went to the Bridal Suite in Centereach for my dress and they were so open about the manufacturer of my dress I couldn't imagine having to pry!

I agree, as soon as I have to pry I know I WILL NOT buy from them! I am just so glad I literlly accidentally found the dress I liked on line. I thought the lady was being fishy, but no matter how much i asked even when i told her my mom was out of state and i wanted to show it to her she just kept telling me it is their dress!!! I guess they get a lot of girls to buy from them by doing that!?!? Luckly i am not buying the dress in the state i am living in so i couldnt have bought it from them anyway, just glad i found it! But i am still not happy cause i continued dress shopping for another one for a couple months after that and couldnt find a dress i could decide on.. now i am stuck between 2... still have to try the one on with my mom
GOOD LUCK!!! let me know how it goes!

Re: NEED HELP!!!! Bridal gown - Adrienne's Bridal
I know a lot of people have had this complaint with Adrienne's, but they told me when I asked, so I was surprised to hear of their practice from a friend of mine who also went there looking. I had a fitting there this Wednesday and made a point of checking. Two of the dresses I looked at had the designer tags inside. Aside from that, if you can find a picture and post it here the ladies on LIW are full of information.
Also, I don't think a cap of $225 for alterations is bad when Saks wanted $450.

Adrienne's will tell you the designer when you place your order. That bothered me as well and I could not find a picture anywhere, I looked though what seemed like thousands of dresses online in magazines, etc. I went somewhere else and described the dress and they figured it out in less than 5 minutes.
If you want more info, fm me.

I can think of one bridal salon I will be reporting for violating that law.

They wouldn't tell me either they told me that they have a personal designer who only designs for them.. BS..I Then went to another bridal store and found out it was Private label by G not what they said. Totally turned me off. You can go to any Bridal store and describe the dress. They will totally know who the designer is and help you.. Good Luck!

Re: NEED HELP!!!! Bridal gown - Adrienne's Bridal
When I went there I felt very uncomfortable that the woman could only whisper the designer to me in the fitting room because the owner was around...Not sure if this was an act but I didn;t like it

I also found out who the designer was before I bought. I didn't deal with the owner, though.

I know its illegal but there have to be loopholes that they are falling through because it obviously seems like their practice.
