If you don't have a long train, I wouldn't go with a cathedral because it might not look right. Did you try on different veils when you tried on your dress?

Re: NEED HELP FINDING A VEIL
Do you want to wear you veil all night? I do so a cathedral wouldn't work. If you don't then a nice long one might be really pretty. If you do then why not go fingertip length?

No I haven't.... I figure when I go back for the BM dresses I would start trying them on.

Re: NEED HELP FINDING A VEIL
I did not have a long train and so I wanted a long veil. I also knew that I did not want to wear my veil all night so it was the perfect logic to get a cathedral veil and only wear it for the ceremony. I ended up with a cathedral length mantilla. I liked the contrast between the short train and the long veil because it wasn't 'too much' but allowed you to actually notice the two. Does that make sense??

Re: NEED HELP FINDING A VEIL
why not do a 2 tiered veil? you can have a cathedral length for the ceremony and then take that part off later for pics. it can be very pretty
here's what i'm talking about:
notice her elbow length veil here:
then this is the veil with the 2nd tier added to it:
the cathedral part was detachable

That so makes sense... That's what I was thinking... I just didn't know if I would like how its going to look or it would be too much.
Thank you

It won't at all. You'll see all the detail on your dress through the veil. And a cathedral veil is so dramatic too....that's why I love it with a short train...it makes up for that.

You know, I was dead set on the short veil too (I wanted my look to be like my mom's who married in the 60s with just the short veil) but after trying it on in the salon with my dress, the longer one was so much more WOW!! The drama was **insane** when I put the long one on. It was a no-brainer. I was initially so worried as my back has detailing too and I didn't want it to be masked but the tulle which veils are made of is so fine and pretty you will see everything through the back, it won't deduct anything from the beauty of your gown, trust me!!!
