need help planning bachelorette party-NYC

If any one has any good suggestions for a bachelorette party please send me a note. My best friend is getting married Memorial Day Weekend and I have to plan the BP. Unfortunately I am in Tokyo for business and will be spending most of my time there. I know that she doesn't want to spend her whole evening at a male review or doesn't want a stripper. I was hoping reservations at a restaurant, maybe a play, or going to a club, but I would love to hear some more original ideas... thanks

I had an idea.... Maybe you could take her and your group to see DeLa Guarda. It's a really fun play and chances are if you keep her standing in the front and draw attention to her they will lift her up and swing her around the theater (they're attached to bungee cords). It's kind of a sexy environment, but not at all raunchy. The guys and girls go around and dance with random people in the audience. It's highly unforgettable.Afterwards you could take the crowd to dinner. I live in NYC and there are so many things to do! I'm not sure of the kind of night you're looking to plan...elegant, casual, wacky, funny, quiet...? just If you need to ask me anything just E-mail me: [email protected]

What about something like a mystery dinner theatre or a dinner cruise? For my sister-in-law`s bachelorette party, we just rented a limo and cruised into and around NYC. We stopped off at the South Street Seaport for a while and just basically had a good time chatting the night away while driving around. We later caught up with the guys at some party on a beach. (I wish I could recall more details, but this was 10 years ago).

I don't know the age range of the group, but the Culture Club in Greenwich Village has an eighties theme to it, could be fun!!

If she doesn't want a traditional stripper, try going to Lucky Cheng's in the Village. It is hysterical. All the waiters are drag queens and you can pay one of them to do a funny strip tease with the bride. However, the food is really expensive and you HAVE to make reservations b/c it gets very crowded. Lots of bachelorette parties go there because it is a relaxed atmosphere and very funny.

I'v heard of Lucky Cheng's before that and the DeLaGaurda sounds definitely like a fun night! The girls are all between 22-28.. so we're thinking something fun, relaxed, and maybe a little outrageous... so if I can get everyone to meet up pretty early we could rent a limo and go to Lucky Cheng's for dinner and then go see a show or hit a club... basically stay out all night have breakfast somewhere and then head home.. this way we don't have to worry about getting a hotel room!! Thanks for the ideas if you think of anything else let me know!!!

Culture Club is one of my all time favorite places! In fact, my friends and I just took my friend Pam there for her bachelorette party last weekend. The age range is (from what I've seen)from 18- late 30's. I go there at least once a month, because my friends and I are all retro girls. I suggest getting there before midnight to claim your dancing place. It gets packed early! Also, the bride and the maid of honor pay no cover price, which is nice.

last year i helped plan a bachelorette party and we ended up renting a limo from 3:00 on and going first out to the vineyards on the north fork - we just hopped from place to place and bought bottles of LI wine for the ride to NYC and went to dinner on LI and a club in NY- it was expensive to rent the limo for so long - but if you have enough people who contribute - it was worth it and one of the most memorable bachelorette party's I've been to. Good Luck!

Help! Any suggestions on where to go in Nassau?

Karen, How about a comedy club? There's a few in Nassau. Or, there is the dinner theatre(like Honeymooners or I Love Lucy). They should have listings in Sunday Newsday-Fanfare section. Good luck & have fun!!
