need help please~!

so..i'm pretty sure that i got this new job offer...but in emailing the employer back and forth he said they can start me at a lower salary during the few months that i will need extra training.
How do i respond to him in asking how long the training will be and when thats completed how much my salary will be bumped up?
Should i even do that through email? Or accept the job and discuss the rest in person?

I dont want to seem to money hungry but at the same rate, i need to know!

Just say, Thank you for your offer. Can you just give me a little more detail on the length of the training process & the post training salary increase.
