Need Help w/ honeymooon....that's IF we have one!! (kinda long)

Okay, when we started planning we were going to go to Tahiti (& Moorea & Bora Bora) for our honeymoon. As we get closer, we're realizing we do not ahve the $ to go now. FH REALLY wants to go but doesn't want to scale the trip back to save $. He promises we'll go next year, he really wants to go to get an authentic French Polynesian tattoo, a big one, on his shoulder, upper arm and chest

Anyway, so we decided to go to Disneyland, and other sights in So Cal, partly b/c FH has a friend who lives there that he hasn't seen in also 9 yrs who cannot attend the wedding.

I get pricing an info, and it's WAY cheaper than Tahiti. I then realize that we'd be doing a lot of touristy things and nothing relaxing and romantic. I mention this to FH and he says 'You're right, let's not go to CA now' I ask where we'll go for our honeymoon and he says 'Nowhere and we'll save money'

OMG, does he NOT understand I really want to get away, even if it's for a few days!!! I have not been 'away' since Sept, when we went to FL for a job interview for him, wasn't much of a vacation!

SO, any thoughts or ideas?!?!

I am hesitant to go to Caribbean or Mexico b/c it'll be hurricaine season. Any ideas???? We want to stay UNDER $3000 and would LOVE all inclusive. Is this too much to ask!?!?!

TIA!!!

Check Breezes in Curacao. It is way south in the Carribean and they take a lot of pride in the fact that a hurricane has NEVER hit the island!

We were just there last month and loved that it is such a quite romantic place with not a lot of tourists!!

We stayed at the Hitlon, but Breezes is all inclusive if that's what you are looking for!

We went for 7 days and spent $1600 for airfare and hotel!!

Good luck!

Thanks Kath, but we're moving to FL sometime soon (as soon as FH gets a job) so I know we woul dbe able to do WDW 'anytime'. I have been considering Palm Beach, b/c there is a hotel there I LOVE (The Breakers) but I just need to convince FH....I dunno what to do, I know I will need a vacation after all this planning, especially since FH is NO help...can't even make a phone call!!!

If you want to do under $3000, you may try the Hawaii Cruise if you ar not oppose to Cruises. OR, if you don't neccessarily need SAND and Beaches, maybe you can try a cruise to Alaska.
I personally think cruises are a great idea since you'll be traveling while you are sleeping and relaxing and touring during the day and food is all paid for.
How about Atlantis, Bahamas? FH and I went there last year, and it was a lot of fun!

Cruises are pretty reasonable if you search for specials. You get to travel to different places and food is included. Good luck!

You can go to Beaches or Sandals in Jamaica for about $3000. Check out their websites. Sandals may be a little more, but it's couples only. Beaches is family oriented.

How about Martha's Vineyard or Block Island? Quiet, peaceful and romantique! I also second the Bahamas and would even suggest Tortola.

What about the Princess cruise the Tahitian Princess. It goes to both Hawaii and Tahiti. You might as well get a price for it.

You can never go wrong with a cruise. They are alot of fun, and you can do the whole trip for under $3000. Fly to florida and sail out of there. It is the best place to go out of. I think better then New York since you are so much closer to the Caribbean. Try Princess cruises. They are affordable and very nice. Also, try an Eastern Caribbean cruise. I like them a lot better then Western, but that is your preference. Celebrity, Royal Caribbean and Holland America are beautiful boats, but a little more expensive. I would price out everything.

What about Aruba. You could stay at the Hyatt, Radisson or Marriott, which I heard are the best hotels. They have a dine around program which is one set price. It gives you an option of many restaurants to choose.

Jamaica all-inclusive are nice. I heard the Sandals White house is beautiful and pretty new. Jamaica all-inclusive tend to be a little cheaper then the Eastern Caribbean ones.

Call a travel agent, and get prices, also do some research on your own. You would be very surprised at the prices you get.
The last two cruises I went on where out of Florida on Princess. Of course we stayed in an inside cabin, so you can get a balcony. Total for the Western Caribbean with flight was $800 each. For Eastern was $950 each.

Good Luck, if you need help FM me!!!

I took a cruise to Alaska in June a few years back. It was amazing!!!!!! I flew to Vancouver, stayed for a day and then boarded the cruise. I highly recommend looking into it. Cruises can be as expensive or inexpensive as you make them. All meals and lodging are included. You can pay extra for guided tours offered by the cruise line, or go off on your own and sightsee. The absolute best shore excursion I took was a helicopter ride to the top of a glacier.

Personally I HATED Jamaica - it's JMO!!! I found the water to be a real disapointment, it was clear but the sand looked dirty with ocean debris and there wasn't really a lot of area you could go 'safely'. I'm a bit of a picky eater and at the all inclusive resort I wound up eating fruit for dinner several times because there wasn't anything I could eat.

If you wanted inexpensive there's several beautiful all inclusive resorts in Mexico, I personally like Cancun but I know other's who aren't crazy about it. If you're just looking for a few days Bahamas is close and can be inexpensive, but even in Florida or somewhere along the gulf there's pretty B & B's you could try to look into.

There are so many beautiful places in California. Why not go to Monterey or San Diego instead of Disneyland. Anaheim is nothing special. As for the Breakers, I live in W. Palm Beach and I think it's pretty boring in Palm Bch most of the time.

Aruba is out of the hurricane belt and you can go all inclusive there for under $3K

I did a cruise to Bermuda last year, and it was great. Just a few other ideas:

Cruise to Canada
San Francisco
Napa
B&B in Vermont or New Hampshire
Las Vegas

I love Block Island - that was a great suggestion. We're putting off our honeymoon too, so I'm in the same boat.
