I went to Sears to look at dryers. They tell me the electric ones are 220. Someone else told me they are all 110. Who's right?? Also, if I need to convert a 110 outlet to a 220 is this a hard job? I hope someone know the answer.

FH says they are 110. The only ones that are 220 are like the commercial ones that are in the laundry mats. You won't need a converter for 110.

Some of the larger electric dryers are probably 220. I wouldn't be surprised.
Converting a 110 outlet to a 220 probably requires changing the outlet itself.. as well as work by the breakers or fuse box.
An electrician could (and should) do this. I wouldn't attempt this on your own.
