Re: Need help with donation wording

I tried to search online for wording and couldn't find anything...

maybe something like:
'In lieu of favors we have decided to make a donation in your name to (charity). Thank you for sharing our special day with us. Love (bride&groom). '

This is my wording. I am attaching a scroll to a box of chocolates.

To Our Family and Friends

With much thought and consideration,
we have chosen a special way
to say “Thank You” for sharing
our wedding day with us.

In lieu of a traditional wedding favor,
we have made a donation in your honor
to the American Diabetes Association,
to help fight this disease and one day find a cure.

We feel the finest gift is one which helps
others live longer and healthier lives.
This gift is given in special recognition of XXX,
the brides father, who shares in our joy today.

We truly appreciate your being
part of our special day.

All Our Love,
B & K

Re: Need help with donation wording

I made a donation to the NYPD Widows and Childrens Fund and we made a small card thatq simply said ' a donation has been made in your name to the NYPD.......' we bought NYPD lapel pins and affixed them to the card and then put the card in a organza bag with a box of Guylian seashell chocolates. (we had a beach themed wedding)

I wasn't into writing a poem but I think I saw one once on this site. Do a search under donation. You might find it.

GOOD LUCK
