Need help with the Enganement Party!

Well, I'm not sure if you want something casual or formal but, Next weekend we're having an engagement party. Well it's a surprise engagement party (suppose to be). My FI godmother is having a BBQ with heroes and salads and stuff. She's setting up her backyard with tables, music, she got a cake and even centerpieces. We thought it was only going to be about 10 of us, but from what I've heard there has been about 75-90 people invited. Our wedding is only going to have 100 people. We might as well get a priest and do it next weekend!!! :) Anyway, a BBQ is relaxing, and that's what we're looking for. We're going to be so busy when we're up there, we're going to be looking forward to it! Good luck! Oh, if you want a fancy place to eat dinner, they have a piano player, etc. go to the Fox Hollow. I've been there for dinner w/my FI grandfather a couple of times and the food is great!

Need help with the Enganement Party!

Melissa's party sounds great! We are having the bbq idea for our rehearsal lunch because of cost! For our engagement party, FI's sister rented a Knights of Columbus hall, decorated it and had it catered. She got the decorations (not many but it looked great!), tablecloths etc, at party city and the food she got from an italian restaurant. I think the total cost was about $1500. We had about 60 people there. The hall was $300 if I remember correctly and we had their uncle dj and we had alcohol there also. Honestly, we had a great time and the party was supposed to be 7-11 but alot of people didnt leave until 1am!!! It was great and relaxed. Good luck and enjoy! Its so much fun!
