I posted a thread a few weeks ago about being upset about fh's bachelor party..as you girls are aware..my fh is going to vegas for 5 nights...I just don't find it necessary...and to add to it..its a totally different weekend that mine is....I keep getting mad at fh and best man..because i feel like they are making such a big deal out of it! My question is how would you feel if your fh went on a bachelor party like this? would you be ok with it? I'm not sure if I am over reacting! A lot of friends told me that they would not be ok with this and feel like 5 days is a little much P.S. My bacelorette is one night, 2 days

I don't think it should matter whether you trust the best man or not, you need to trust your fH. That is what matters. I personally would not get angry, but I am semi-liberal. This is his last horrah. Some men feel the need to go and over time bachelor parties have gone from a one night trip to a strip club to a few days away in vegas or amsterdam. He is an adult and if you trust him then let him have a good time.

yes I would be just as annoyed as you are. But me and my FH are a lot a like when it came to our BP parties. It really didn't matter to us at all. We've been together for 8 years - neither one of us needed a 'last night out' thing, lol. When it came time to plan the parties we both felt it was so unnessasry in the grand scheme of things. Again, this is just us - but we were so ready to just have the wedding and be married that it seemed silly to fight and stress over the bp party - with each other and the people involved. ie: money, etc.

honestly, i would just let him go have his fun...besides, the bachelor party is more of an excuse for his friends to go away anyways. I just went away for 5 days to Turks and Caicos with 7 of my girlfriends and he just got back from Key West for a week with the guys..it was just a vacation not a bachelor/bachelorette party. And he missed my college graduation but i didnt even mind. Sometimes you need the time away to really appreciate what you have waiting at home!!
i agree.
I will admit that when i was younger, i was different. I would fight and worry even about 1 night of going out and it was pointless. I learned the hardway that doing your own thing and having your time is key to a healthy relationship. With ex's in the past it would be all about 'well what did you do last night, who did you see' but it was also done to me and i hated it too, but wouldnt stop myself from doing it. There was another couple too i was good friends with and they NEVER went out without eachother, the only reason they never did was bc the moment one of them went out alone the other one thought thats it this person is going to cheat, i used to wonder why they are together then, why be with somebody that you think the moment they will be away from you they will cheat on you, its really no way to live. You want to be with somebody that eases your mind, that can go out and you will trust them, and thats why you are marrying your FH bc you believe he is that guy.
A guy/girl that does not cheat wont cheat just bc its their bachelor/bachelorette party. If someone does cheat its bc its something they have done in the past too and who they are, you know your FH and youre marrying him bc you know hes not that guy.
Let me say that as much as i hate when dh and i are apart, it also makes us realize each time how much you truly love this person, you know it already obviously but just reminds you sometimes which is good when you go through a routine. One of my best memories with DH is when he went away to philly for the weekend, he kept calling me on his way home saying he couldnt wait to see me, i pretended that he was getting back too late so i would wait to see him until the next day and even though he was upset he had no choice but to understand. I decided to surprise him, got him a card and some other stuff and parked up the block waiting for him to get home, well i was parked too far so i had to call to say im there bc he went in too quickly, the second i said i was there he didnt even let me finish, came outside and ran down the block, i thought he was going to knock me down and hugged me so hard, picked me up and carried me back down the block, seeing that reaction is my fondest memory of him. Even other times we've been away, that moment when we see eachother again is priceless.
Even for his bachelor party, he finds it funny that when he was at a strip club and one of the strippers came over and was talking to him, he turned to his friends and said 'wow i cant believe how much i miss Denise' his friends found that histerical, its weird and i know other girls wouldnt feel the same but i found it so sweet Dh gets homesick quickly, he LOVES vegas and has been there about 6 times, but when he came back he was saying in a shocked way ' i couldnt believe how much i missed you' he said i knew i would miss you but i felt lost W**' dont get me wrong he had alot of fun the first 3 nights, but the last night he didnt even go out and he even got home earlier the next day
Doing your own thing is very healthy for relationships, going out with friends, even going away with friends, having interests and hobbies.
thats so true denise! Very well said..and your story brought tears to my eyes..Let me ask you something since your fh went to vegas....was he hounded by chicks just because he was 'the bachelor'?? and was he hearing rude remarks?

Not really because my fh is pretty honest about everything and he doesn't feel the need to do stupid things that I have to worry about.
It all depends on what you think your husband is capable of doing out there in Las Vegas for 5 days. When i mean capable, i mean does he show characteristics of a man that can go buck wild and do something that he will regret later if given the opportunity.
absolutely not..he hates strip clubs,..he says he wants to gamble the whole time..Im more worried that chicks will hound him rather the other way around..hes a good guy

well from what he told me and from me going to vegas for mine, i can say its mostly girls who really get ALOT of attention for it. First of all my dh didnt want to wear anything that showed he was on his bachelor party so just him and the guys being out people didnt know. He told me there were lots of bachelorette parties, and he would say 'so youre the other A**HOLE' he thinks hes funny, so only when he saw other bachelorette parties would he say it. Im sure his friends would say theyre at a bachelor party bc when i was in vegas for mine we always had other guys tell us they were there for a bachelor party. From what i saw with my own eyes when i was there, no girls didnt hound guys just bc he was a bachelor

my bachlorette party is 4 nights- 5days. We were going to go for a long weekend but an extra night was free. They offered to pay b/c they wanted to go away longer.
FH was mad at first but he knows he has no reason not to trust me. Dont worry about it. They probably got a good deal too.

no girls wont follow them around, usually theyre too busy trying to follow around a celebrity that might be around or somebody real rich, other than that the girls wont really act desperate
well trust him enough to know how to handle the situation

Aww, that's so cute, Denise...I got goosebumps reading this! I agree with what you're saying. My FH is a big hunter and during hunting season he goes upstate for the weekend. I'm used to it and still miss him, but I know it's something he LOVES to do, so I don't have an issue with it. But, I can always tell as soon as we see each other how much he missed me. Especially, when he takes his two annual week long trips!
Kristin, I already said this on your other thread, I don't think you have anything to worry about. Aside from being a little envious of him having a whole week away, which I'm sure you'd love too, it sounds like what you're more concerned about is the money. I'm glad to hear he has another job already! He sounds like he is responsible, so to him maybe he feels like with all the responsibilities of owning a home, this may be his last chance to go away like this. With the expense of the wedding, once it's over you will both probably have to watch your spending. So maybe he feels like 'let me take this opportunity now'...you know what I mean?

Thats very true! i never thought about it like that
It will feel like forever at first, but the time will go so fast!

Re: Need honest opinions
My FH is going to AC for one night. My BIL is getting a room for 2 nights, and invited him to come the night before. I told him that I thought it was cmpletely unneccesary to go for two nights. After a bit of an argument (about other things as well) I just left it alone.
