NEED HONEST OPINIONS PLEASE!

We've been struggling to come up with an entrance song for the BP at the reception. Our families will be walking in to U2's It's a Beautiful Day. Tonight, FH suggested this song by Dropkick Murphys (if it sounds familiar, they played it a lot thru out The Departed). Ignore the screaming lyrics, we'd just use the intrumental.

Keep in mind... we're Irish but not having an Irish-themed wedding. We want something upbeat but we're not sure if this would just come off as stupid.

HONEST OPINIONS PLEASE! You won't hurt my feelings if you tell me it sounds dumb!

Ok I absolutely LOVE the music, but can you just cut the lyrics???? I'm not crazy about it. I don't mind it but its not wedding appropriate...I just feel like grandmas and grandpas won't get it and will get angry...the music itself is upbeat enough

Oh yeah... the lyrics would totally be cut! To be honest, I don't even know what the lyrics say, as soon as I heard screaming, raspy voice, I told FH, NO LYRICS!

Freakin LOVE it. I think it's perfect for an entrance song. I think entrance songs set the tone for the party, the more upbeat the better in my opinion......this song will get everyone out of their seats and I think it's going to be awesome!

No, I think it's too upbeat for that... and to be honest, at an occasion like a wedding, I can't imagine people making that correlation.... but thanks for the imput, definitely something to think about!

I love it- irish rock!!!! yeah!!!!

the intro is long enough that u dont even need to worry about the lyric part

I originally was gonna have the BP come in to O Bla Di, O Bla Da b/c it was playing on the radio on the bus on the way to the falls and I'm a super Beatles fan, but i think now maybe FH and I will come out to that song and the BP will come out to the Dropkick murphys!!!!

I would have.....FH is BIG into film scores and movie music...that's why I think its so perfect!!!! Plus we're irish so its even better!!!!


I still think you should go for it....I think its awesome!!!! and its great to get people all ready and riled up!

I LOVE that song...I think it is a great get the party started kind of song. Very upbeat. Perfect for an entrance song.

We're not having a full irish style wedding, but I definitely will have a few little things like that thrown in. FH's family is italian, so I don't think a full irish theme would go over too well. We'll definitely be playing the celtic symphony at some point during the night and probably the wild rover too.
